Texasota Report post Posted March 24, 2014 I've had this happen on cars with hydraulic parking brakes as well. I've always had the parking brake release once I start moving though, usually with a loud pop of the ice shattering. After experiencing this once or twice, I try to not use the parking brake in similar situations. If the rear brakes are drums (as opposed to disc), then a frozen parking brake they will usually break free easily in reverse. jeff_h Report post Posted October 10, 2014 Here's an Edmunds article with a recap of their 17 months of experience with a $105k Tesla... there were comments both positive and negative, and then I read the list of issues that they had with the car, and it was quite a list. http://www.edmunds.com/tesla/model-s/2013/long-term-road-test/wrap-up.html
murphy Report post Posted October 10, 2014 I've read about the Edmunds Tesla. It had a large number of drivers that were apparently trying to destroy the car. There is a picture of their car accelerating up a hill with huge clouds of smoke coming from the rear tires. It's no wonder they wore the tires down to the cords with that kind of abuse. http://www.edmunds.com/tesla/model-s/2013/long-term-road-test/2013-tesla-model-s-burnouts-burnouts.html Compare that list with the huge number of TSBs for the fusion and the hoops you have to jump through to get them applied. I'm still doing the "work around" to get venting with the A/C compressor turned off. At this time my 2013 Energi has two outstanding safety recalls and no parts available to fix it. It's one of the 850,000 Fusions that have been recalled. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted October 16, 2015 Neat videos of Tesla Autopilot in action. I was talking with some Tesla owners last night at our local Plug-in Vehicle Owners Circle meeting & a few of them had been able to download 7.0 yesterday & test out Autopilot on the way to the meeting. One was downloading it while his car was parked outside & was looking forward to testing it out on the way home.
