I keep getting all these severe warning for McHenry county over here.

 

Hope all you Chicagoland folks stay safe through this crazy weather.

It was nuts. We learned our phones emit this god awful noise when a tornado warning is issued. I knew mine would alert, but my wife has a basic phone without date, and it too emitted a nasty alert. Coal City got nailed by an F2, but may be recategorized as an F3 or 4. A few others landed down south, but did very little damage, while one was reported up near Alden. An inch of rain fell between 9:45 and 10:15, and some rather large hail as well.

We were watching NBC5 live stream.

It was about 1 PM CST but the live picture from the camera showing Michigan Ave for the studio background was black.

 

It's always a sad day when lives are lost even with all the warning technology nowadays.

Looks like some damage was done around Crystal Lake and Algonquin. The fence at our parking lot is blown over, some power lines and trees are down, closing 176 and a road near my office.

The one that hit Washington was reclassified as an EF4 from an EF2. It was a nasty one.

It sure was the pictures really look devastating.

Washington, IL is my home town. Born and raised there until off to college and subsequent career. Still have a few relatives there and luckily they were not in the heavily damaged area. the pictures I have seen are devastating. At last report only one death which is miraculous.
