GrySql Report post Posted November 10, 2013 In this video it seems like they can just open the doors, not start the car. Is it Bluetooth, OBDII, MP3, wireless or remote entry scanner - any ideas? I know BMW's had a big problem with this and the subject has been discussed for years. 2 gkinla and hybridbear reacted to this

acdii Report post Posted November 11, 2013 Considering RFID and wireless now, not surprised at all. Once someone determines how to crack the key fobs, then you will start seeing more car thefts of cars with PBS. Just a matter of time, good reason not to leave anything you wish to keep in the car. This is even more concerning, actually taking control of a car. I came across this last week. I haven't completely vetted this but it seem plausible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqe6S6m73Zw Edited November 12, 2013 by gkinla
Toz Report post Posted November 12, 2013 yes very plausible, but these guys had assess to the car and lots of time, not like they just drove up with a laptop and took control of the car by WiFi. Pretty cool tech demo, but it seems like a pretty low threat
