alpha754293 Report post Posted September 16, 2013 Sorry for creating YET another topic on this, but it's too bad that this wasn't all lumped into one generic topic re: PCM update.Anyways, so news of that - yes, it's there. Yes, I've had it applied to my car now for almost a month now. And yes, it does seem to be helping. Initial improvements right after the PCM update was +1.0-1.5 mpg. Now, I'm at almost +3.0 mpg compared to pre-PCM update. (Got into the office this morning at 40.2 mpg, whereas my previous high was only 37.3 mpg). Picture to follow. So it does seem to be doing what it's supposed to - increasing on-road average fuel economy.
EddieWinslow Report post Posted September 18, 2013 Good to hear,I purchased my car after the update was already applied. So I don't really have anything to compare it to. But so far I am pleased with my mileage. 1 alpha754293 reacted to this
alpha754293 Report post Posted September 18, 2013 My current lifetime average after 12500 miles (20,000 km) is 37.8 mpg (6.2 L/100 km). My last three fuel-ups on fuelly shows that it's gone up from 38.1 mpg to 40.2 mpg (almost 2 mpg increase) since the PCM update and since I am in the process of "re-breaking in" my car/"re-training the computer"; I have reason to suspect that it is going to continue to go up a little bit (all the way until I hit 20,000 miles/32,000 km) because for the first 10,000 miles/16,000 km; I was getting my best mileage right at the end of that. It's a GREAT car. And I love not even paying US$40 for gas while doing 400 miles/640 km in between fill-ups. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
