corncobs Report post Posted August 23, 2013 It's not something I want to encourage but I have reached a new record low for short trip MPG. We should have walked but there was a T-Storm in the area and my wife hates lightning so we drove. 1 Aquineas reacted to this
fusionTX Report post Posted August 23, 2013 That is a new low. Lol. Going out to lunch at work kills my MPG, but I usally manage in the twenties.
djminfll Report post Posted August 23, 2013 If it makes you feel better, see photo below.Actually, I had called SiriusXM for some Tech Support and they had me start the car, leaving the radio on, while they did a master reset. It took over 7 minutes, and after about a minute, it went into ICE mode. So I covered zero ground, and only achieved 0.1mpg. 2 corncobs and hybridbear reacted to this
GrySql Report post Posted August 23, 2013 I'm not buying into this negative concept, my car has been a source of joy for my wife and I, no matter what the mpg's are doing.Just yesterday, she said she loved the HVAC system, her feet are cool and she can play with and direct the controls to her hearts content. This is 'our' car, not my or her car, it's what we use most and have come to love traveling in it.Everything else is secondary and as time passes we'll figure out the mpg thing, but it's not the primary reason for the car.Our 'Time Machine' has added a quality of life factor to our lives and I, for one, don't have time to complain about the 'early adopter issues' that our car is experiencing.I can tell the forum about those issues in an effort to share info and find answers, but that does not diminish my respect for the car.Sure it's a complicated car and needs attention, we find ways to go to the Dealer that make our visit fun, rather than a nagging waste of time.I love the damn thing and am proud to own it, I like looking at it in my garage. -- My brother is envious.... For other automobile experiences I have our Mustang GT 'Vert for ozone burning. I'm making it more fun all the time with Mod's.While not the fastest car around, the top lowers and we can cruise the pleasant evenings and get an ice cream cone at Baskins-RobbinsOur two very different cars satisfy my old school, asphalt blistering needs, while the FFH conveys us hither and yon in a luxurious, economical silence that makes travel a pleasure. So, a fig for your low mileage examples, my cup is half full. 7 hybridbear, FusionRose, corncobs and 4 others reacted to this

My car was idling for more than seven minutes, of course it's not going to get any mpg! I was offering some consolation to corncobs. Anyone who has read my posts should know I LOVE my car! I was offering some consolation to corncobs. Anyone who has read my posts should know I LOVE my car!No, I was just speaking for myself, no reflection on anyone. In this world it is easy to complain and sometimes difficult to see past the immediate issues to determine what is really important. You, corncobs and many others are the solid, productive base that makes this forum such a resource to come and exchange views, solve problems and sometimes just have fun. What my car does or doesn't do is mine to enjoy or solve, this forum has been nothing but a positive influence on my attitude. The sad truth is, some of these cars are under achievers at mpg's, but in my case, my FFH has other attributes that mitigate that. 3 hybridbear, corncobs and djminfll reacted to this

My first tankful since the PCM was 48mpg, but my current fill-up is well below that. But I'm still thrilled with getting anything over 40mpg. My Volvo S60 consistently got 20-24mpg and was capable of hitting 30-32mpg strictly on the highway with Cruise Control set to 70mph. And it was a 2007 so it did not have the technology that the FFH has (Adaptive Cruise Control, BLIS, rear camera, not to mention USB outlets, more comfortable ride, quieter interior, tight turning circle). So if I have averaged over 42mpg from the start, I couldn't be happier. I'm still amazed when I look at the Trip screen and see that I have driven 100 miles and have barely used 2 gallons. 3 corncobs, GrySql and hybridbear reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted August 25, 2013 I too am very pleased with my car. Yesterday driving to get me and my sons haircuts, I had the AC going, enjoying the drive, radio cranking, driving it just like I always do and only got 40 MPG. Only? LOL No complaints there! Thing is, I know for a fact the can Can get EPA when driven correctly and little load on the ICE and HVB, so when I only get 40 with all the stuff going, no problem! You have to pay to play. Now that "other" car, that was a different story. Just going to leave it at that. 2 Larry Riley Jr and corncobs reacted to this
