Love my Ice Storm FFH

Recommended Posts

Hi Skydogz, welcome to the forum!

Is your car actually a 2014? I didn't know if they were actually produced and being sold yet, or all still on order.

Good luck with your new baby, let us know what you think as you continue driving!

Ice storm is the color of mine also. I did the clay bar thing and it really brought out the color. It was amazing just how much rail dust the clay bar picked up.

Congrats and welcome! Make sure you register your siriusxm to take advantage of TravelLink.

I dont have the nav option, just standard SE Hybrid; does the TravelLink still work with just Ford Synch?

Turn-by-turn directions is part of Sync services, but there is no map to accompany the directions if you don't have the Nav system. You do need to have a cell phone tied to the Bluetooth in order to connect to Sync services. I use it all the time, it works great, unless you deviate from the route they provide. If you deviate, the system has to start all over again, and that can take awhile.

Yes, I thought it was a 2013 or assumed it was. But when I got home to update my car insurance I found the VIN and sales paperwork both said 2014. Bonus points!

It arrived in San Antonio Saturday and the dealer must have tried to sell it all weekend, they called me Monday morning to say it was in (I had looked on Friday and left my number).

Got it below sticker but they got me to pay dealer add for nitrogen in the tires! Which I don't really want unless the NEVER EVER leak.....

Yes its a beautiful color, sometimes greenish but seems mostly blue tint.

How have you been enjoying yours?

I notice also you shoot 3 gun. I am a Front Sight member but never shot competition.

Got it Monday, still figuring out all of the "stuff" LOL

Welcome, Skydogz. My first test drive was with the nicest, most personable, non-pressure-y salesperson ever, in an Ice Storm. I enjoyed the color a lot, especially how it sort of varies by the angle. I ruled it out at the end of the evening mainly because I thought it added 20 years to my age ;-) I decided to order the dark blue with sport wheels to placate my inner teenager. So glad you and many others are enjoying our car. I know I will, very soon.

I really like the color. It's what I call a good Florida color. It's light and doesn't show the dirt and road grime from our daily rain storms.

Front sight has some good training. I've been two a couple of their courses. For me, they stress their techniques a little too much. They can be a stiff about it when you try and use your own self developed techniques, or techniques from other courses. I shoot 3 gun and IDPA in the Southeast US. Shot a few competitions in the Northeast also. It's tons of fun. You should give it a try. All you need is a 223 carbine, a 12 gauge shotgun and a 38 super, or larger caliber, depending on the classification. My 3 gun tools are a SCAR 16s (223), SLP shotgun and FNP-45 tactical. I'm a big FNH fan. It also helps if you reload your own ammo. I shoot an average of 500 to 750 rounds combined a week. The only thing I don't reload is slugs.

I just wish I could stage all my shooting equipment out my Fusion! Driving my F-150 a long distance to a shoot makes my really appreciate the comfort and mileage of my Fusion.

Yes the color is also good for Texas dirt AND heat, looks sometimes blue, sometimes green, or silver; kind of like frozen seawater.

The trunk isn't huge but was happy to see the fold down seats to expand trunk space, that made it doable for my guns.

Welcome from another Ice Storm owner. Can't say enough about how this unusual color stands out. Big bonus that it doesn't show dirt, tho I do like to keep it clean. Get a nice front window cover and some window tinting and you won't be bothered with heat gain. There is another one in my neighborhood, which was a nice surprise.

Looks like Ford has modified a few things for the 2014!

The fuel history looks somewhat different they added text to hold down the OK button for a reset.

The trip summary they may have listened to 2013 owners complaining / wondering about the fuel used display only being displayed with one digit.

Surprise surprise now they have two digits which makes more sense.

It also looks like the CC set speed isn't striked through when disabled.

Nice early MPG results btw. ;-)

Edit: additional observation and the avg. MPG was always visible.
