MaineFusion Report post Posted August 11, 2013 Now you would think that a mechanic at a Ford dealership would know how to properly lift a Ford Fusion, but today when I was looking under my car trying to find the reason for a noise, I notice two spots on a body panel where it ties to the undercarriage were bent, apparently because a mechanic used them as lift point. There are arrows pointing to where the lift points are, but they are a little further back under the body of the car and are recessed up behind the body panel. So this is yet another thing that I have to bring to the shop manager's attention when I go in this coming Friday to have the shim installed on the half-shafts. My advice, if you take your FFH in to a mechanic other than a Ford dealer (who should know better), Make sure they know the lift points are not at the edge of the undercarriage. Also, if for some reason you try to jack your own car up, make sure to find the proper lift point. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
GrySql Report post Posted August 11, 2013 What a shame, that really is inexcusable for shop work. Plus, how can it now be fixed? FWIW, the lift points are shown here:http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/6163-spare-tire-for-fusion-hybrid/?p=46273 1 hybridbear reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted August 12, 2013 That really stinks! I hope they replace whatever parts they bent.
