dknape Report post Posted August 10, 2013 I received a letter from Ford regarding a software upgrade that will allow the vehicle to use the electric engine all the up to 85 mph rather than stopping at 62 mph. I'm scheduled to have the upgrade completed on the 16th of this month. Has anyone else received this letter or had the upgrade done? If so have you noticed improvements? When I bought the car I was convinced that if I got up to 40 mpg I would be very happy as that is double my previous vehicle and when you drive over 20k miles a year it makes a big difference. I'm slightly above 40 mpg now and very happy and hopefully with the upgrade it will improve even more.

dunkwmiller Report post Posted August 11, 2013 (edited) I got my letter on Friday (yesterday) and got it done at my local dealer today! I drove home in EV mode at 70 on the freeway. Since I drive nearly 1,500 miles a week to/from work it will be interesting to see if I can get my lifetime avg mpg up from the 42.2 (almost all highway speeds) I have seen during the first 30K miles.
