tr7driver Report post Posted August 8, 2013 The moon roof on my 2012 Milan HY is suddenly having an issue closing. The pop-up deflector isn't getting pushed down when it closes and it stops about a half inch short of closing/sealing. I can't tell if something has broken off or maybe it could use a little lube someplace to push the deflector back down instead of catching on it. I can push the deflector down while the roof is closing and it seals ok, but not without my help. When I tilt the roof open it works fine, as the deflecter never pops up in the tilt open positon. Any ideas on this one would be appriciated. Thanks
gkinla Report post Posted August 9, 2013 This same thing happened to my 2010 FFH. The plastic parts in the closing mechanism shattered and the moon roof wouldn't close without pushing down the air deflector manually. If this is the problem it's not a cheap repair. Luckily I purchased an extended warranty. I just looked at the service order, which I kept, the moon roof parts were $703.25 for the rail/frame assy, 9E5Z-5451070-A (the dealer said parts were on the assy only) and $56.00, 7W1Z-5454022-A for a holder. Labor was $503.10. Sometimes parts can be the same number between the same type of body style. Look around in the rail area. I found several shattered plastic pieces there. 1 GrySql reacted to this
tr7driver Report post Posted August 9, 2013 ouch! Thanks for the info. I'll look around and see if I can find any plastic parts in the rail area. I cleaned the leading edge of the glass and the deflector, hoping that would help, but no luck. I do have an ESP plan, so maybe this will be covered if I need to take it in.
