Sirius Renewal Deals

I have been getting the 6 months for $25 offer about every 3 months for the last 5 years on an XM radio that I stopped using. Note that in the fine print it says that doesn't include taxes and fees.

Subscription ended in her car a week ago, and as expected here is what arrived in the mail today -- the fine print at the bottom which notes "renewing automatically at the then-current price" means that I better set an outlook reminder for 5.9 months down the road and cancel and bet dollars to donuts that another letter like the below comes again a week after that.

You have to give them a credit card number or a checking account number. They won't do business with you any other way. I'm proof of that.

Wow $30? Thats high, I keep getting them for $25. The problem with Sirius is they dont take NO for an answer. I finally wound up blocking all their toll free numbers, they wouldnt leave me alone. It becomes a headache when you get so many Fords that have sirius. Heck I am still getting them for the XM I had in the Hyundai Veracruz, and I haven't owned that since 2010.

The six-month trial subscription on our 2013 FFHY SE was set to expire on March 20. A few days before that, we got an email offering six more months for 29.99. We took the offer. The catch is that the subscription will automatically renew at the normal rate in six months unless I call them and cancel. I intend to do that about Sept. 18 in the hope that they'll give me another cheap six-month offer.

I learned that the hard way! I checked my last credit card statement and there was a charge for $101 for a year of Sirius. I called them and told them I didn't want it, so they offered me another six months for $30, and credited me for $70. But they advised me that it will automatically renew if not cancelled by the expiration date and another renewal at a discounted rate will. It be permitted. Of course, when I first talked to them, they told me that I was not eligible for a discount this time, until I asked for a manager. So I'll try it again when this is ready to expire.

Do you guys not have credit cards that offer virtual account numbers? My Citi card does, and they're great for promo offers like these!

When I tried to look into it with the VIN for my parents' C-Max it said that their VIN wasn't eligible. It didn't give a reason why.

I just tried it and was able to activate my free trial. No credit card was needed.

You know you have arrived and been recognized when you get your first (of many likely) offer to renew your SiriusXM.

 

Mine arrived yesterday and served as a reminder that I have this service. I have never used it, nor will I. I don't need or want the extra expense.

 

But I thought I would share with the rest of the world how special we are in Canada. We have a great offer sent to us - $4.99 MTh plus taxes and fees for three months. Yes that is correct - three months and then the regular rate is $15.99 a MTh plus taxes and fees. There is a lot of fine print there as well, but I'm not going to even try and read that. All I know is that the US gets better deals than us Canucks. Seems fair right? :censored:

I was going to see whether the previous owner activated their Sirius travel info, and my vehicle for some reason had everything except radio activated. I know the car was on the lot since at least November and I got it in March. I didn't activate it. Free Sirius travel link? Also, I don't have a photo, but I did see up to date construction info show up on maps a few times which really confused me!

Is there an easy way to find out when these promos are happening outside of periodically tuning the radio to Sirius to see if it works?

I like the Travel Link but I don't use the music much. (I prefer my Pandora One subscription. They are raising the price on that too, so it may go too) My subscription ends on July 1. I also received an offer in the mail yesterday similar to Inco's. I didn't think it was worth the money, but If I could get Travel Link at the right price I'd take that. I'm about to go on a cross country trip, but I'll be back before my subscription expires, so I might be singing a different song by July. I expect I'll get a better offer from them once it expires.

Oh, I had no idea they did promos. I ended up signing up for the 3 mo trial, thanks previous owner for not using it. It'll still be nice since I'm driving to the middle of WI for the weekend and a good chance to try the radio.

 

Is there any way to see current traffic conditions besides the list/icon format? I'm thinking something similar to Google Maps traffic indicators where the road color changes.

 

Also, is there any way to tell that the current traffic has been taken into account when it plans a route?

If you check their FB page they normally announce it well in advance. They do it several time a year. Usually during the Christmas holidays and always During Memorial Day time frame. This one started on May 22nd and lasts through June 2nd. BTW, the promotion is for music only and does not include any of their optional add ons.

The promo I got was for everything _except_ music. Which in the city is fine, I just stream music through bluetooth. It still did say I had no subscription, and there was no indication in MFT I could find that explained why I was getting the services for a little while.
