corncobs Report post Posted August 2, 2013 I had no idea how advanced the Camry really is...Especially that it can propel the car while generating energy. Maybe you get a good laugh out of this as well. http://youtu.be/vLm050QtDfU 1 hybridbear reacted to this
jeff_h Report post Posted August 2, 2013 He makes some good points, though I have never been fond of Toyota styling (personal preference) but one claim right near the end (4:08) that I found strange was that Toyota has roadside assistance, "but with Ford you're on your own"..not sure what he means by that claim as Ford also has 24/7 roadside assistance as I think probably all manufacturers probably now have. 3 acdii, corncobs and hybridbear reacted to this
corncobs Report post Posted August 2, 2013 Agreed he makes a few good points but the comment about the hood lifts is absolutely pointless IMO. There is no point in checking under the hood in modern cars if you break down in the middle of the night and I'm certainly not going to check the oil level either. Don't get me wrong I would love to have hydraulic lifts for the hood and its probably a very minimal cost saving measure on Fords side.
acdii Report post Posted August 3, 2013 Does that mean the hood on the Camry is too heavy for a prop rod? Whatever! The Camry does have a few small things that are better than Ford, like the Nav is easier to use, The base radio sounds better, very close to the Sony. Much easier to get 40 MPG in cold weather. However, It doesn't have the BLIS/CTA, Adaptive Cruise Control, Self Parking, Auto HighBeams, nor does it get 47 MPG.
rfruth Report post Posted August 3, 2013 (edited) Propel the car while generating energy lol (no physics is my guess) but then he goes on to talk about the (12v) battery & its ability to start the car (wonder if he knows the Camry & Fusion hybrid have no starter motor), if you can't dazzle them with brilliance baffle with BS ... djminfll Report post Posted August 3, 2013 In all honesty, I wasn't committed to the FFH until I shopped around. I drove a TCH, and I found that it did not accelerate as smoothly as the FFH, and I also found the quality of the interior to be far below the FFH. Once I compared the TCH to the FFH, it was a no-brainer. 3 acdii, vangonebuy and hybridbear reacted to this

neod192 Report post Posted August 5, 2013 He did mention the turning radius... I wish the FFH would have be able to turn more. My wife's Envoy turns much better than the Fusion. I find it a pain in the a** to do a u-turn in the middle of the road in the Fusion; in most cases I have to put it in park and go back to avoid climbing the curbs ... In comparison, the Fusion is a huge improvement, so I guess it's all relative.
hybridbear Report post Posted August 5, 2013 I don't like the lack of gas hood lifts on our car. I also don't like the lack of DRLs, but the rest is crap. The point about the 12 V battery is crap. The 12 V battery is not used to start the gas engine in EITHER car so that just shows how stupid the dealers are. About airbags - the FFH has dual knee airbags, the TCH does NOT. FFH is IIHS Top Safety Pick+, TCH is not. 3 corncobs, GrySql and acdii reacted to this

Oh my goodness! They're so stupid!! I remember seeing a report that the FFH did a lot better than 8.5 sec 0-60 acceleration. And the FFH has the active head rests which he claims the Fusion lacks. I sure hope there aren't any Ford dealers publishing similarly stupid videos. Has anyone searched for that? B25Nut Report post Posted August 5, 2013 C&D was the one that got the 0-60 mph at 8.5 sec. They must have done it on a low SOC for the HVB. Others have gotten 7.3 sec. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
