I figure this is a long shot but I've got yet another rattling/clicking sound inside of my cabin and I figured I'd see if anyone else has this problem/can share some insight on how to fix it.

My driver's seat has started clicking regularly right down near my right hip, maybe even closer to the back of the seat. It's not a constant noise, but an almost random "click" or "pop". It certainly tends to happen on bumps, but it also just happens during random times, maybe when there's a slight shift in weight or something, I'm not sure. I don't know if most people would even be bothered by this but anytime my interior makes noises like something is loose or rubbing, it drives me absolutely nuts.

Any thoughts?

I think I know what you are talking about since I hear the same kinda noise occasionally. I would say most times like you said over bumps and thru corners taken a bit faster.

I think we hear it too, when shifting weight around in the seat or hitting bumps...but no idea what it is or how to fix it.

I hear this too as my weight shifts on the seat sometimes. Sort of makes you think something is loose,

but I don't think it is really.

In particular, I hear it often as I get out of the car. It seems like is just a bit of give of the seat as mounted

on its metal frame.

If you are out of the car, grab the seat at the front edge with one hand and grab the head part with

your other hand and try and give it a push/tug. Sometimes I can hear the noise if I do this, but does not

feel loose in any way. Seem to happen more on weight shifting on the seat.

Exactly, I can sometimes force it to do it, but it happens much more often from weight shifts, it seems. Makes it hard to pinpoint too.

Should say that in my case it's the Titanium seats, others have this issue with the SE seats?

What would that suggest then?

I'm hearing something like that but I swear It's coming from the back seat somewhere. I also have a rattle coming from the hybrid battery compartment (I think) I can't hear I much louder if I put the seats down.

I thought mine was in the back for a while... and I've also thought it was in the center console. It's hard to locate it but now I'm sure my noise is somewhere in the seat, I just can't find where.

It's coming from something metal like the frame of the seat, the track or the mounting.

If I had to say, I'd say somewhere between below my right butt cheek, right hip/thigh and

my groin....somewhere in that triangle..... :baby:

Please pass the moonshine so I can erase that image from my mind.

I put my hand down beside the seat on my drive in to work today. I could have sworn I felt the slicking with I put my hand on the plastic trim piece on the side of the seat that faces the center console. If I get a chance I'll investigate further.

I feel like it MAY be the leather of the split seat area on the back seats rubbing against one another. Not sure. This is so frustrating.

Fold one of the seat backs down and see if it goes away.

I did that. It sort of went away but I could still hear it a little. The problem with the seats down is I hear the rattle that's somewhere in the trunk area (another noise the dealer hasn't been able to pinpoint and fix yet). I miss my car when I drove it right off the lot and it was quiet as a mouse. A little upset all these rattles are happening so early (i've only had the car since April).

Verify the plastic funnel for manually adding gasoline to the tank is secured.

Check the 12 volt battery to verify that it can't be moved at all.

Check the trunk lid torsion bars. There is a rubber piece on the top bar that prevents the bars from touching each other. It should also be centered so the top bar can't touch the underside of the rear deck.

I noticed the torsion bars have a tie around the middle that holds them together at the center point. I'm not sure if this is something my dealer put on it or what. It seems like the sound may be coming from teh battery compartment (the HVB not 12 volt). I'll check the funnel but I'm pretty sure it's secured in a box where the wheel well is.

My seat rattle goes away when I move my drivers seat to a different position, but I've done that 3 times and it's come back twice so far after a brief spell of silence. Waiting to see how long I get by with this most recent adjustment...

Found out where my trunk squeaking was coming from. Had someone drive while I laid down in the trunk (with the back seats down). It was coming from the area where the right trunk bar goes behind te felt side area, kind of above the wheel well. I just pressed the felt area some where I heard the squeaking and it went away. Hopefully it doesn't come back, at least now I know what it was. Sooooo much more relaxing and driving without that noise.

p.s. I know this shouldn't be in this forum, not sure why I started talking about it here in the first place :) Sorry! :runaway:

Yep, the noise came back. It's 100000% the felt covering (is there a name for that) that covers the right trunk arm. I can only recreate it when the trunk is closed and i'm laying flat with the back seats down, moving that felt area. Stuffing a towel down there has stopped the problem for now, Although I want a permanent fix. I guess I need to pop off the little buttons on the cardboard felt covering and get back there to see what it is.

There is also another tiny little noise that sounds like the leather rubbing together or something like that, somewhere in the back. I wish I weren't so OCD about these things. I feel like if I have the radio off it should be ultra quiet, other than road bumps and some slight wind noise. Maybe my expextations are too high :-)

When my 2006 Jetta managed to remain quiet inside throughout my ownership, I'd expect no less from this much nicer (and much more expensive) car. Granted, this car drives a good bit quieter so maybe I'm noticing things I'd never have noticed in another car, but I'm so sensitive to these sounds I don't think I'd miss them in any vehicle.

I was stopped at a light today, and the temps were so nice I didnt have windows open or the HVAC going. Holy crap is this car quiet, I could hear all the other cars around me. Other than that woowoowwwobwawawa sound in EV, all I would hear would be tires while cruising.
