itschris Report post Posted July 24, 2013 I don't know if it's related or not, but this past weekend we were making a lot of donation trips and were in and out of the trunk all day long. Monday, I noticed that 1) i could see part of my bumper on the rear camera and 2) the cameral is clearly crooked because the on the display the bumper appears to go from about 3/4 inch to a quarter inch on the screen. I never even noticed that the bumper was visible... I'm not saying it wasn't, but I'd be surprised that I would have not noticed that and more importantly, something out of whack. I'm just wondering if opening and closing the trunk a bunch jarred the camara. Either way, it needs to be adjusted. Is that doable? PS - speaking of the trunk, does yours stay up? My wife got clunked on the head because it came down on her. I noticed that the tension to keep it up is very minimal. A slight incline even will cause to not stay up. Thoughts? LEM Report post Posted July 24, 2013 Mine shows the trunk, too. I had the same impression than you. I was also wondering if it was like that before. And yes, I got hit in my head with the trunk a few times. It doesn't stay up!
airbusguy Report post Posted July 24, 2013 You must have a Titanium with the added weight of a spoiler. If so see TSB 13-5-18. New torque rods to hold up trunk lid.http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3632/tsb13-05-18.htm 1 LEM reacted to this
aaronj1159 Report post Posted July 24, 2013 The crooked part doesn't sound right, but I would think you'd WANT to see the bumper. As someone else said in another thread, it serves as a frame of reference. Without it how would you know how close your car actually is to something? itschris Report post Posted July 24, 2013 I don't know, I don't remember the bumper be shown and especially not crooked. I just judge distance by the indicators and the beeps. Is there a way to adjust the camera? Thanks for the bulliten Airbusguy!
neod192 Report post Posted July 24, 2013 The dealer might have to make the adjustment. I think they'll have to take that trunk lid apart.
gkinla Report post Posted July 25, 2013 (edited) My 2010 FFH was the same way, And my 2013 FFH is the same. You can see part of the license plate and bumper. I like it this way because you can see almost straight down and allows you to backup close to walls, cars and such. And you can see it's not even across, the reason being the lens is off center to the drivers side by two inches, I believe my 2010 FFH was dead center. I remember seeing the license plate even all the way across in the RV camera. Edited July 25, 2013 by gkinla
itschris Report post Posted July 25, 2013 Mine is pretty much like that pic I guess. Just weird I never noticed it. I'll take a snapshot and post up just for comparison.
