jessbart22 Report post Posted July 19, 2013 I recently took my car to the dealer for 30,000 mile service. Just a basic oil change, tire rotation, and inspection with no issue. Ever since, however, my fuel economy has dropped significantly. I went from averaging 38 mpg to 21 mpg with no change in driving habits. I noticed that the car will not spends a lot more time under engine power than in EV mode ever since my service. The vehicle is certified pre-owned. jessbart22 Report post Posted July 19, 2013 Correction: the car WILL spend more time under engine power than EV mode.
acdii Report post Posted July 19, 2013 Check the air pressure in the tires, maybe they adjust them but to the wrong pressure. They should be at 38 for this car if you want good MPG. If its on ICE a lot more than before, what is the charge level?
jessbart22 Report post Posted July 20, 2013 Air pressure is good. I noticed that the regenerative braking system wasn't kicking on at all, so the charge level remained low. On my last couple of trips, the problem seems to have sorted itself out. The RBS is working and my fuel economy is back where it should be. Thanks for the input.
