new member with menu setup issues

Recommended Posts

Had my 2010 since it was new. Great mpg, great ride, enjoy it more than i expected.

Recently we discovered the setup menu won't display, nothing. The display itself works fine, but punching up the buttons has no affect on the display. No menus pop up.

We have been getting a tire inflation sensor error and an oil change message (although oil was recently changed).

Try doing a reset by pulling the fuse. Is this the Nav screen version, or the blue led display?

Thanks, i heard someone say pull a fuse... which one is the next question.

We have nav, but the menu i'm dealing with is to the left of the steering wheel. The setup button is in the cluster on left side of wheel.

DW found the problem when trying to reset the oil change warning lite.

Oh That menu! It is either the switch on the steering wheel, or a malfunction of the display then. I assume car is out of warranty too. If its the display, I heard they are expensive.

You might try to reset the whole thing by disconnecting the battery for a few mins. If that doesn't work then you may have to take it to Ford for service.

All of the buttons on the steering wheel plus the horn and air bag circuit go through a clock spring assembly. They don't fail often but they do fail. I lost the air bag circuit on a 1985 T-Bird. Take it in and have it checked out.

Thanks, all is well. The button musta had a hang up. It is now working normally.

Last look, we are at 40.8 mpg since the spring reset five months ago. Winters have been in the 37 to 38 range.

Right on the money too! Thats the one thing I found about the 10-12 FFH, they were not that hard to get EPA in, and very consistent too.
