Humming noise while driving

I don't know how to describe that. It's similar to that noise that some bulbs can make sometimes. Especially when you adjust the sensitivity with a dimmer.

 

Here is the thing... since I bought the car, I hear that buzzing noise while I drive. It goes on and off. It's hardly inaudible, but since

the car is so silent, I hear it. I asked the person sitting next to me but she couldn't hear anything. Maybe I'm too sensitive!

 

First I thought it was when the car goes into EV and switching back and forth, but it happens at anytime.

 

Do you guys have heard something like that? Maybe it's just normal but I'm curious.

Noise Cancelling most likely. Or your passenger is just messing with your mind.

I've heard almost a light static-noise when my radio is on low volume sometimes. There is another thread somewhere around here discussing it. In that case, I think it's the noise cancelling. Not sure if that's the same sound you're experiencing.

Where does the noise appear to be coming from? If from the rear could it be the cooling fan for the HVB?

I have heard hissing, but cant say I heard a humming, but I usually have a window open or the radio blasting.

The hissing comes from Prius drivers.

Could it be the air conditioning? It's loud enough that we can hear it when moving slowly in the city even with all the windows closed. It could also be the cooling can for the HVB as mentioned above.

 

Do you hear the sound with windows down/up? Air conditioning on/off? Is it only when transitioning the ICE on & off? Noise canceling shouldn't make noise if the ICE isn't on, right?

I thought that moaning and weeping sound was from the Prius drivers, but the hissing fits! LOL

I am still not sure where it is coming from exactly, but looks like it's from the front.

I always have my windows up. I've tried with the AC on and off. I also thought it could be when transitioning the ICE, but it happens at anytime.

I experience the same noise on my 2013 Ford Fusion SE Ecoboost.

 

Sound coming from front Driver side seems like.

 

Sounds like a loud Humming sound or almost like a Zoooooom at times... but it comes an goes out of no where I've never heard anything like it an it doesn't seem to affect anything with driving capabilities at all. So im puzzled any help or advice pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
