Fusion Titanium Hybrid - Tuxedo Black on order...

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

My FFH Titanium is ordered and I'm awaiting delivery. Dealer gave me an updated ETA last week of 07/01/13. It was 07/25/13. My sticker was posted on 06/14/13 but I still don't see any build info in Etis. From the other posts I read it seems it takes 7 days from the sticker posting so maybe this weekend. I not confident on the new dealer ETA unless the car is really already built. Doesn't seem likely they could build and ship in less that 2 weeks. Guess I'll know soon.

Tried a lot of different vehicles over the years. My first Ford was a 1959 Galaxy 500 It was quite the beast. More recently I've owned a 2007 Escape Hybrid which we just replaced with a 2013 Escape that we are really enjoying. Averaging 26.8 MPG on the first 3000 miles so I'm happy, The FFH will be replacing my 2004 F250 Lariat. Looking forward to the increase in MPG as the F250 gets around 12.

Welcome! Our car was built 11/26 and reached the dealer by 12/14. That was coming from Mexico to Minnesota. I imagine that a car could also make it to NH in about 2-3 weeks from build date to delivery. You could create a thread on the BOF to track it and get more information. Sometimes the dealers aren't the best at providing updates.

Etis now has my build date of 06/22/13. So if it ships right away my last ETA on 07/08/13 might even be good!

Since they're all black interior, we test drove this same car on Tuesday, completely loaded out, sticker of $37XXX. Impressive car.

Hello, I am brand new myself and this is my first reply. I pulled the trigger yesterday 07-09 on a Tuxedo Black FFH Titanium with Moonroof and Navigation as well. Only thing I got additionally is 'Driver Assist Package'...... mine should arrive at the dealer today 07-10. I haven't paid for it yet..... but have given my word so I am committed. This one was on another dealers lot.

So,,, what do you think of your new car? Also, where do we research what others have been paying for so we know what kind of deal we got.

I really like the new ride. For pricing I used TrueCar.com to find a local dealer with the best price and Kelly Blue Book to get the price of my trade in. The dealer with the best price on TrueCar was a little ways away so I took the price info to my local Ford dealer and told them if they could match the TrueCare price for the FFH and Kelly price on my trade I'd buy from them. They worked it out a matching deal and I ordered.

Excellent. I will go check out Truecar.com.... I probably should have done that before pulling the trigger...... We picked it up today and only thing that was an issue was that it arrived from another state that requires front license plates. No way was I going to have a front license plate on a car that is designed to look very nice from the front. I had them remove it and then there were screw holes in the front bumper..... Man, It did not look good and I was going to have to walk away from this very special deal that this very special dealer pulled off for us........ but then they called the body shop to figure the cost of fixing this mucked up front from the license plate bracket and came up with a solution......

Take the car to a body shop and get it fixed.

They however are going to pay for it. Am feeling really bad for folks that have to have this license bracket mounted on the front of their really nice looking car. Here in Indiana we don't have to do that.

If you are in a state that doesn't have a front license plate, it definitely looks like crap if you have either the license frame, or the holes in the bumper. But it doesn't look half bad if you have a license plate on the front of the car. Check out some of the pictures in the gallery here. Good for you to for having them pay to fix the front bumper and make it right! Post pix as soon as you can!

On this car it's not that bad. It's not covering up the nice part of the grill. I was extremely sad when I moved to Va from a state that didn't require front plates when I owned my '06 Jetta. The chrome grill had to be covered by plates. THAT was a shame. It's not such a big deal on the Fusion though.

That was a shame. Here at our dealership all of the Fusions had a real clean look and then when ours arrived with a license frame it just looked out of place. The sad thing is that when the dealership mounted the bracket they didn't do the 1/4" holes for rivets and instead used the self tapping 1/2" standard license fasteners. Nice clean 1/4" holes would have been an easy fix... 1/2" self tapping thru plastic looks horrible and mangled.

Anyhow, we are happy. Now just need to get that 47MPG.

Have you driven a hybrid before this one? There are lots of posts on here from members advising some of the tricks and techniques we have learned since getting our FFHs. When driven correctly mid-40s to low 50s are definitely achievable. And we can track your successes in the fuelly signature!

Have driven them when test driving... but have never owned one. As you can see I am brand new. I suppose I should read the tricks and techniques... I will do that now.

Now,,, how do you do the fuelly signature?

I posted it in the other thread, but I'll post it here as well:

To add a fuelly signature to your posts, you first need to enroll with the fuelly site. Go to www.fuelly.com, and register with them.

Then use this link:

http://www.fuelly.co...signature-badge

to use your fuelly info as your forum signature.

Your signature updates each time you add another fill-up to fuelly. And all of your old signatures are updated to current as well, so if you start with 40 mpg but later have 41mpg, all of your fuelly signatures will be updated to indicate 41mpg.

Thank you,,, I will register for that now.

So... does the 'Lifetime MPG' actually reflect MPG since the car was born? Or, does it or can it be reset? I would prefer real numbers since the car was born but you never know how these things work.

Hopefully, on my next post/ reply I will have the fuelly signature working...... :)

It can be reset but likely includes MPG since the car was born unless the dealer reset it for you. Under the menus on the left screen you can do a "Lifetime Reset" I believe is the menu item. That will reset your Lifetime Brake Score and Lifetime MPG

Whoops,,, I think I probably did that when I first got the car so I guess I'll never really know it's 'True' MPG since it was born (500mi ago now). But, so does everybody's fuelly score represent their lifetime MPG or just the last fill up?

It's the average across the logged fill ups.

I my case I yet to transfer all fill ups into fuelly that's why my fuelly avg looks so nice it's missing about 6000 miles including our roadtrip which average around 36 MPG. My FFHs lifetime which true lifetime since it has never been reset sits at 39.7 MPG

Ours is from day 1 on, includes every tank. If you click on the link in my signature you can see the details of each fill up showing how much our fuel economy has improved with warm weather.

Great and Thank you HybridBear....... It is great to see your history. I am looking forward to creating my own. It is good to see your history and where you're from to gauge what we are to expect. I am in Indiana so we are live in somewhat the same region. I remember the brutal winter that you guys had to endure. When Winter finally broke for us, I was watching the weather and commenting to my wife ' Damn, Minneapolis is still in serious Winter...'..... and then after such a cold and long Winter for you guys..... I remember commenting to my wife 'Damn, Minneapolis turned to Damn HOT... pretty quickly!'.

Anyways, just my observations from another Midwesterner.,....

Thanks. It was an awful winter and now has been a hotter than average summer so far. Considering how our tank averages went from 40 to 55 MPG when the weather turned nice the extra month of winter we had compared to average has certainly had a negative impact on our Lifetime MPG

Thank you for your response and your honesty. I just did my first fuel up (only 7 gallons or so since I wanted to enter something into fuelly.com and we have a 200 mile trip tommorrow.). Anyways, I avg 34.4 since I picked it up 189 mi ago and my lifetime is showing 34.1 (520 mi.) I did reset the trip meter but left trip 1 alone since it had the actual birth MPG so this is where I get the 34.1.

Looking forward to tomorrow's trip.
