I got 706 miles on my last tank of gas, showing 16 miles remaining. What driving technique? None. How did it happen? When I last filled the tank, for some reason I decided to see how much it would hold after the automatic cutoff (actually after the second cutoff which is my usual stopping point). It took a few minutes, adding gas slowly, but I added four more gallons before gas started to (slowly) emerge from the entry point. So I decided to see if I could get 700 miles and I did. But I won't be doing this again. I know it released emissions into the air and, for some cars, it can cause expensive damage. For the record, I noticed no difference at all driving on that overfilled tank and then filling up today (with 12 gallons, stopping filling normally).

Congrats!! Your refilling technique is the same that I used on my one and only 700 mile tank. Mine came at at time that I didn't use heat or A/C either. I doubt I will be able to get a 700 mile tank on my '19 HyTi, it doesn't get the same MPG as my '13 SE.

Have you determined a reason why?
