Randyb Report post Posted June 8, 2013 They don't like the trunk space (engineering trade offs we've learned to live with) but overall a reasonable review. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/09/automobiles/autoreviews/aiming-for-the-hybrids-sweet-spot.html 1 hybridbear reacted to this
B25Nut Report post Posted June 9, 2013 The size of the Fusion Energi's trunk is also a deal killer for me. Cargo volume is essential for my weekly pleasure and work requirements. The FFH fills 97% of my needs in this area. If the Energi is made in a wagon version in the future, then it will have the potential to be my perfect vehicle. 1 corncobs reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted June 10, 2013 The Same with the Cmax, I had given it consideration instead of the HyTi because of the 21 mile range on battery would be ideal for the trips to the store, or gas station, or through the town when going to and from work, but the lack of cargo space was what put a mark against it. Only 6" of space when the cargo cover is closed, not enough room for the kids back packs.
rico567 Report post Posted June 10, 2013 Yes- a reasonable review. The plug-ins (apart from their cost) dropped off our radar because of what the NYT article said: too much taken out of the trunk room. The Chevy Volt went by the wayside for both trunk and back seat size. We just can't deal with that much reduction in interior room.
LASooner Report post Posted June 12, 2013 I would have bought the Energi if not for the trunk.
acdii Report post Posted June 12, 2013 I would have bought the Fusion Energi HyTi had it not been so expensive and not through my normal dealer. I could get by with a smaller trunk in THAT car, but not the Cmax, Can only give up so much If you know what I mean. 1 neod192 reacted to this
Celito lindo Report post Posted June 22, 2013 Reviewer missed boat on big point. Dashboard electronics cool for first 900 miles suddenly glitchy. We bought Toyota Prius and c max energi in April 2013. Whoever responsible for SYNC development should be replaced. Microsoft all the way. Crashes constantly. Rarely works as promised. No reset. Bad really bad manual. Night and day difference between cars. Buyer beware.
