So I finally bought one. I love the new body style on these fusions and I told myself that if I ever bought one that it would be a hybrid. So I finally did it, but one thing that I didn't bargain for was the unavailability of them. I guess I didn't realize that Ford just didn't really make that many of them, so I was unable to find one that had all of the options that I wanted. My dealership ended up having to trade for one from another dealership that was out of state. My specifications were not really all that picky either. All I specified is that I wanted a white (oxfrord or metallic) Ford Fusion Titanium Hybrid with black leather, premium audio and nav and no driver assist. I didn't really think that was asking for much, but it took a while for them to find one. I actually called another dealership, had them look in the meantime and they still haven't called me back. So here I am, waiting for a car that I already bought. This is worse than when you buy something online and have to wait. Anyway, the wait sucks, but at least I know that I am getting exactly what I want. I've actually never driven a 2013 model. I really like the '12 model that I drove and I hear that the '13 is even better. Supposed to have it by Saturday (May 8th) at the latest and the minutes on the clock just can't pass fast enough. In the meantime, I guess I'll just keep reading about driving techniques and such on this forum.

Congrats and welcome and the WAITING is the hardest part! Imagine knowing your car is 91 miles away, and it takes a week for it to move that distance! Yep I know how you feel, but it will be well worth it.

I hear ya. Mine is in memphis and i'm in little rock right now, i wish i could just drive to memphis and get it. I'm trading in my 2012 ecoboost f-150 for it. I love he ecoboost but it just doesnt make sense to drive a truck 50 miles to work and back everyday purely for transportation. Getting 22.6 mpg on the truck, which is actually really good for a 4x4 pickup (flat drive to work and back) but it aint nuthin compared to 47 mpg. I drove a 2012 fusion hybrid on the same drive and got low 40's, so i'm really interested to see how this 2013 compares.

22 in an F150? That is really good, mine struggled to get 18 on Premium. Then again mine was loaded with max tow, long bed Screw Lariat. I did see 24 for a short time when I drove it to California, and the total trip was 21 MPG.

Yeah, i think she has been performing well lately because she knows that I am getting rid of her. lol. Its a short bed, super crew xlt. Thats also driving 65 mph. Only 16k miles on the ecoboost so my milage has just recently started to improve. Like i said, i hate to get rid of her but I am really impressed by the fusion hybrid. Well...that and I like new toys.

Picked it up today finally. I love this car, but the only thing that bothered me was the front license plate bracket. I have no idea why there would even be one on there, much less why anyone would put the screws right through the body of the car. Needless to say, I was a little dissapointed. The dealership said if that if I bring it back next week that they will make it right and sand the holes down and respray it. I don't feel that I am being picky, especially on a brand new car. Check out the pics.

I live in a state that does not have a front license plate. There was no bracket or holes on the front of my car when I picked it up. I suspect that the dealer drilled those holes.

Glad that they are making it right for you. I had the opposite happen to me, Maryland requires a front license plate but my car didn't have one when I bought it. Took one week for it to be shipped to the dealer. In that week of waiting, I was pulled over once because I wasn't displaying a plate. Easiest ticket I ever got out of.

Well crap, now i just noticed that i dont have navigation. The build sheet that i sent the dealer clearly said voice navigation, a $795 option. When i picked the car up, i just assumed that it had it due to the big screen, the "my touch" and the "sync". I called them and they said they are going to "make it right". Monday. Is this an option you can add after the fact? If not, i'm wondering how they are planning on "making it right". I've bought three vehicles from this dealership and they've always taken care of me, i guess we'll see.

Since all of the cars have the GPS hardware and voice control (SYNC uses it) it's probably just a different software load and the addition of the SD card with the map.

Didn't they go over the car with you when you picked it up?

You said they had to trade with a dealer out of state. If that other state required front plates, I'm sure that's why they were there.

Yeah they went over it with me, but I guess they left out the part where it didnt have Nav. Why would I want My ford touch, ford sync and a big display screen with premuim audio, but without nav? I didnt even fathom for a second that it didnt have it. Just seems like it wouldnt make sense any other way. Anyway, just really shocked that it would come that way. Apparently, you can't just buy an SD card and upgrade. The manufacturer has to "activate" it, and dealerships dont have the means of doing that yet. Long story short, they are getting me another car. I am just driving this one in the meantime. Oh well. Do I sound like I'm being too picky? If I'm spending the money, I want to get what I want.

It's not too picky. As a customer you get to decide what you want and as long as you're willing to pay for it then the dealer should give you whatever you want. Glad they're getting you a different car. Sorry to hear that the dealer made this mistake and got you a car missing that feature. Did the price you paid the dealer include navigation? I imagine you'll have to pay the difference now if you didn't pay for it before

Not sure if this helps, but here is my story about having Nav (and not having it). When I got my FFH it had the Nav as I order it, but somehow Ford corporate didn't know the car had Sync. It came with Sync and myFord touch (with the luxury package). It seems someone at the factory missed a step when installing myFord touch (version 3.2.2). I had it back to the dealer several times for this. The first time they didn't understand what the problem was (it wasn't with the car at all - just Ford's corporate computer). When I explained they setup another appointment to reinstall the myFord touch operating system. This time it worked, but somehow in the process Ford's computer lost the knowledge that the car had Navigation. I was told by the service people that they had sent a message to Ford to update their records and it could take up to a week. I think it was about 5 days that I didn't have Nav. The upper right quadrant on the myFord touch just didn't have the link to it. The car was fine everything was there (including Sync on Sycnmyride) but no Nav. I got the word that Ford's computer was updated and knew my car had Nav and after another trip to the dealer it was fixed and back in place.

This leads me to think it really is a software thing in the car and at Ford corporate. So, I'm guessing that you will be fine with the dealer fixing it.
