neod192 Report post Posted June 3, 2013 (edited) I saw this posted either here or on BOF, so I figured it deserves it's own topic. ISSUE:Some 2013 Fusion and MKZ vehicles built on or before 4/16/2013 and equipped with remote start may exhibit a concern of the climate control system blowing cold air during a remote start event. In addition, the defrost option may not be available in the Instrument Cluster Settings - Remote Start Menu. ACTION:Reprogram the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) to the latest calibration using IDS release 84.03 and higher or 85.01 and higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraft.com. Link to the TSB: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/pubs/content/~WT/~MUS~LEN/3642/tsb13-05-28.htm I don't think this is worth a trip to the dealer, but next time the car will be there I'll have them do this. acdii Report post Posted September 22, 2014 Not sure if this is the same update that was applied to mine to correct the AC on/off button, but I do know that since the update, I can now run defrost and floor heat without the AC running all the time. Double WIN in my book. 3 hybridbear, corncobs and GrySql reacted to this
gkinla Report post Posted October 7, 2014 TSB 14-0096 has superseded the older FCIM TSB. I was at our dealership today getting a 20K mile service. I gave the SA the TSB 13-5-28, because it was updated to 14-0096 remote start vehicles only, I was SOL getting this done today, And no one was willing to work through the drama to help. That is bad news for you and I, previously loyal SBF customers. Before our former great SA quit this would have been a snap to have done, the new Service Admin at SBF has tightened down the screws.Too bad you can't tell them you'll pay for their 30 minute laptop time because it definitely fixed my HVAC A/C button issue - my wife is happy. Jgo5366 Report post Posted December 8, 2015 I had an after market remote start installed by best buy that is supposed to mimimic the factory start and I'm having the climate Control issue. I was told that applying this fix might not work since it was not installed by Ford. Anyone apply this tsb to their aftermarket remote start and it worked?
