Reverse active guidance lines disappeared

Recommended Posts

Coming home backing into my driveway a realized that my active guidance lines didn't appear as usual. I tried putting the car in park and back into reverse but the lines failed to show up.

Anyone out there that had this happen as well?

Check to see if they got turned off. They can be turned on and off, but dont remember where.

That's the second thing I checked and turned on / off but no change. Sorry I forgot to mention that in the first post.

Just put the garbage out and I had to check the car to see if the guide lines decided to show up again and surprise surprise they are back.?

Thanks for the suggestions guys; I'll keep an eye on this to see if it happens again.

My auto Window close was not working for 2 hours yesterday. My key went 1 hour without being recognized. Oddest things.

If you zoom the rear camera the guide lines are turned off.

Maybe it did that by itself; but the picture looked normal backing up.

I have a different problem... it appears my yellow lines aren't exactly straight... meaning if I use them to guide myself back into a spot... lineing up my yellow guidelines with the parking space lines, the car will actually be crooked.

I thought it was me just not being able to back up or something, but it's definately that the guidelines guide me in cock-eyed.

They aren't parallel with the car, found that out long ago. Takes some practice though and eventually you will know just where to place the ends so when you are backed in you are straight.

Mine always seem to be parallel. If I line them up parallel with the lines I'm parking between, I'll be perfectly straight in the spot.

I did find two things this morning, with MFT you can turn those guidelines off, or change the green/yellow/red into a set of geometrical planes rather than a line.

Since there are already guidelines for where the wheels will go, seeing the green/yellow/red as an area instead of a line is helpful.

Are there AG's when you turn the steering wheel?

According to the OM (Pg 191):

The fixed and active guidelines fade in and out depending on the steering wheel position.

The active guidelines are not shown when the steering wheel position is straight.

The steering wheel was turned a full turn since I park my car next to my wife's. The drive way exit is only on car wide so I always have to turn to the left while backing in.

I also moved the steering wheel after in noticed the lines didn't show up.

Yes, this could be one of those instances that requires a certain amount of driving cycles to allow the software to return to normal.

This happened to us today. We'll see if later today they come back. The lines worked leaving home this morning but not when arriving at our destination and backing into a parking space.

They did come back when we left our destination. I shifted into Reverse before pulling forward out of the parking spot I had backed into so that I could check. They worked again when we backed into our parking spot at home too.

Isn't that one weird thing?
