itschris Report post Posted May 22, 2013 My phone displays as a model or serial number on the screens. I don't see a way to have it list as Chis for instance. Between us we have five phones...business and work and it'd be easier to name the phones. I'm sure it's obvious, but I don't see an option to name the connection. corncobs Report post Posted May 22, 2013 What kinda phones do you have? My iPhone has my name and that's what is displayed when connected or in the phone list.
GlennTX Report post Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) You should be able to go into the phone (Bluetooth settings) and give each one a name. Then when it's connected to the car that name will show up. Edited May 22, 2013 by GlennTX
acdii Report post Posted May 22, 2013 Sync pulls the name off the phone, so if the phone has not been setup with a personalized name, it will pull the default name which can either be the brand or serial.
itschris Report post Posted May 23, 2013 I have Samsung S3's and iPhones. The iPhones show up as "iPhone" my Samsungs show up as "SPH and some numbers" If I go to the BT setting on the S3, it says: My DeviceSPH--1710Only visible to paired devices checkbox yes/no ... unchecked Paired DevicesChris's Phone The second section is what I changed, but it still doesn't show my name in the car. itschris Report post Posted May 24, 2013 I renamed my S3 by pressing the Menu button, then "settings" then "Bluetooth", then hit the menu button again and select "Rename Device" AH HA! I think that'll do it. I did upair and re-pair yesterday, but it didn't work. I think this will do the trick though. Thanks
