06' Fusion Audio input add-on for MP3?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know about getting an audio input for my MP3 player? I have the 06 Fusion with the audiophile but it has no input... but now on the 07' they have added it. I do have one person that said they offer a kit for about $130.00 as an add-on (name of kit or were do you get it?). I bought the radio type MP3 hook-up and that sucks.

Also, I can't seem to have the stereo to read the cd's? My Freestyle does and I have the best stereo they offer in this car and it's not going to read the cd's? I've pushed the text button and went through the book but no luck.

Thank you!! rockon.gif

I'm new to this forum but thought I'd let you know about a device from Kenwood that will resolve your problem if your HU has RDS. I have an '06 Zephyr with the THX II and plan to get one of these. I don't know if the Fusion audiophile has RDS. If it does this is what you need:

This nifty little box will allow you to use Kenwood modules(Sirius, Ipod, Bluetooth, etc...) through any radio with RDS. It uses the RDS system to provide text info and a clean signal to the factory system.

Cool - a lot of people are going to be thanking you for this find!

Just wanted to follow up on this. I purchased the Kenwood KOS-A200 and installed it in my '06 Zephyr. This unit is great. It does a great job of taking advantage of RDS to display it's soure, menus, etc. The sound quality is better than any FM modulator I've heard. I also installed the Kenwood IPOD adapter. I've seen better IPOD controls but it is very usable. Installation was easy. I'll try to get some pics sometime this week. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to keep their stock HU but would like a little more add-on flexibility.

I just got an 06 Fusion SEL last week. I was disappointed that there was no mp3 hookup. Has anyone had any success installing a hookup using the aux button? I stopped in a stereo place today to ask about it. I assumed that they would know exactly what to do but the seemed like it couldn't be done. They are going to get back to me tomorrow. Any helpful info would be nice.

I am also looking for a unit to hook up to my 2006 Ford Fusion SE... if anyone is able to find one that will utilize that useless AUX button, it would be greatly appreciated!

You just need a PIE adapter.
