As promised, my first real world ops...

OK, drove to Walmart this morning. Cold engine, press the start button and go. It is about 2 miles round trip. I leave the house, stop in front of the entry doors, then leave and come home (long story for another time). I got 29MPG. That is two and half times better than my Pontiac Convertible. So happy with that. BUT, I then, after shutdown, pressed the start button again with a warm engine, and did exactly the same thing. It showed 50 MPG. So the engine warmed up does make a huge difference. I am very happy with the results, and I expect as we go on into summer, it will get better.

 

General opinion. This is probably the finest built and engineered car I have ever owned in my almost 50 year driving career. The Titanium sound system is just unbelievable. I had to figure out how to set the surround sound and center the field of sound, but when I got that done. Very impressive sound system. I absolutely love the keyless system, from the pushbutton start to the touching the door handle to lock and unlock. Again, I had to figure out how to set it up where all doors unlock at the same time etc, but that is the beauty of the system, it is configurable. The interior is spacious for us, and very comfortible. The Titanium leather is just perfect. I could go on and on but ....

 

Sorry for the long post, don't know how to express my feelings for this machine without getting verbose.

 

Bottom line, we made a great choice. I would/will do it again in a heartbeat.

Congrats! I really wish I had been able to wait for a HyTi, only thing was I didn't know Ford was going to make one when I bought the SE. I really like those feature, I have them in the Flex.
