gmarshall Report post Posted May 14, 2013 My build date was 01/04/2013 and I just started to hear the popping noise at around the 1600 mile mark.

neod192 Report post Posted May 17, 2013 1500 - no noiseI started hearing the noise too - but only in a parking garage with the windows open where the sound can bounce off the walls and ceiling. I only hear it if I'm completely stopped and start driving, if I'm already rolling and hit the gas it doesn't do it. I did hear it once as I was stopping though. acdii Report post Posted May 17, 2013 Thats exactly what it does. Its the initial twist of the axle when it makes the noise, and then makes it again when the twist(torque) is removed. Since it is under load you wont hear it again, only when you take the load off and reapply it. Since I am well familiar with the sound, when I get my new one, I can find out if its an ongoing thing or not. I'll bet its nothing more than a shim that is needed. Osofast Report post Posted June 17, 2013 (edited) I'll bet its nothing more than a shim that is needed. Wow how funny is that, not far from the reported fix were you Acdii I have just had the cracking start on mine at 2,390 miles build of 1/13 Edited June 17, 2013 by Osofast
B25Nut Report post Posted June 18, 2013 My cracking sound has actually gotten much less noticable at 8,600 miles. I can't hear it with the windows up, and barely can with them down. Weird. My delaer won't have the shims for probably another two weeks.
smr2112 Report post Posted June 19, 2013 Dealer told me that parts for this are on national backorder. If your dealer gets you parts and/or a fix, post it hear. Not ETA for mine, but open case and probably July. If you want to find out for sure if you have the problem, drive through the drive-through window of a McDonaldsor Chick-filet or any fast food drive through will a close wall on your left side. Drive slowly with your windows down. That's how I first noticed it very clearly. Very tough to hear without a quiet environment and/or that close wall to reflect the sound.
