Riggo Report post Posted April 20, 2013 This is from the description on the Ford site... The Ford Fusion is engineered to handle with precision and agility. But that doesnt mean you cant enjoy some serious driving enjoyment which is what the available Audio System from Sony® provides. The system features Dolby® DAEP 5.1 Surround Sound technology and Sony DSP processing, 390 watts of power and 12 high-quality premium speakers including one subwoofer. Riggo Report post Posted April 20, 2013 Not sure where it is. I'll look for it tomorrow when I pick mine up. If I can't find it there's gonna be some 'splainin' to do!

Riggo Report post Posted April 20, 2013 That would be a weird place for it. I'd suspect somewhere in the trunk. Who knows.
47Minutes Report post Posted April 20, 2013 Based on my 2010 FFH and what I believe to be true of my Energi, it should be located in the rear deck. Middle. It isn't very large.
dalesky Report post Posted April 23, 2013 Gotta think its in the rear deck. The trunk is generally used to improve woofer sound. Most likely place anyway.
acdii Report post Posted April 23, 2013 Its on the deck in the 2010, but I have seen them on the side of the trunk, but dont remember which car. I havent seen the Titanium models yet. Maybe that was the Cmax that was on the side. Most likely though its in the middle of the deck, its been there in the Crown Vic and Grand Marquis, MKS, and Town Car too. JSKershaw Report post Posted April 23, 2013 My SE has a vent in the middle of my rear deck. I see a grayish plastic cover. Perhaps that's where they place the sub woofer in the HyTi's. You will most likely see it when you look inside the trunk. It will most likely be either a 6" or 8" woofer.
neod192 Report post Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) Finally remembered to look in the trunk when I was by the car :) There are 2 large speakers and a small one. I don't think the subwoofer is there - unless the it has two. Edited April 25, 2013 by neod192
acdii Report post Posted April 25, 2013 too bad I dont have the 13 anymore, but that plastic box at the top may be the sub. I dont remember seeing that in the SE.

itschris Report post Posted May 18, 2013 If you're picky about audio, you'll want to add a sub... A real one. The Sony system is a lot better than the SE, but still could use some help. I'm wondering if it has a real sub out and amp connections for an upgrade.
acdii Report post Posted May 18, 2013 nope. These are one trick ponies. The Sub is in the trunk under the deck, that big plastic housing has the sub in it. If you were to tap it, you may be able to add a sub, but make sure its isolated from the system so it doesnt do any harm. If the one in the Fusion is as good as the Flex I will be quite happy with it. With the volume at 1/3, I can feel the bass pound my chest.
dalesky Report post Posted May 20, 2013 I am quite satisfied with the Sony system, but I am sure if you find a local car audio shop they could certainly do more with the bass. I have noticed that this car is quiet, not just because of the battery power, but overall. We just finished a Harley bike rally here, and I noticed the noise was less intrusive than usual. Of course, the way to appreciate it if you don't ride is to take the convertible down to the rally area and enjoy!
acdii Report post Posted May 20, 2013 I hate the sound of bikes, hurts my ears. There is such a thing as over doing it, and quite a few do it. There is one or two guys that ride by my house doing 60-65 on HD and I can hear them damned things from over a mile away. Shoot even the Wright 1820's for the B17 dont make that much noise! 1 corncobs reacted to this

Paul Chin Report post Posted June 26, 2013 Just got an aftermarket subwoofer and amp installed on my 2013 FFH SE. Problem is that it interferes with the active noise cancellation. Whenever my car is in the 1000-1500 rpm range, the subs rattle/rumble, which is the active noise cancellation sound being amplified by the aftermarket sub. Still looking for a way to fix this. 1 gkinla reacted to this
dalesky Report post Posted June 27, 2013 Forgot about the active noise cancellation. I think I will stick with the factory sub, but may consult an audio expert just to see if it's possible to increase the low end. I really have no complaints tho, and probably won't modify it at all. acdii Report post Posted June 27, 2013 With the right music converted just right, the Sony system sounds great. I have some music that I got through iTunes, and every track is clear, Huey Lewis & the News A Couple Days Off, really rocks it too When I can feel it in my chest, its good. 1 dalesky reacted to this

I have some music that I got through iTunes, and every track is clear, Huey Lewis & the News A Couple Days Off, really rocks it too When I can feel it in my chest, its good. Saw a news article recently (don't know which show) that talked about losing your hearing, and not just baby boomers.Actually, more younger people are having issues because of ear buds, which 'seal' the ear more. I am not worried about my hearing being affected since I rarely use a lot of volume. The ones I wonder about are the real boomers that go by and have their vehicle literally vibrating the metal parts! Got to wonder if much of that will have a permanent effect. All that said, the Sony system does sound impressive. I prefer CD for quality sound vs MP3, but some tracks do sound good even in MP3 format. Now, if we could play a real record, that would be a test. Maybe one of those players that have a USB output? 1 acdii reacted to this
