acdii Report post Posted June 7, 2013 Hi and welcome to the internet. You must be new here. We have a saying on this big old world wide web, pics or it didn't happen. Plus it makes people happy. ;-) :ohsnap: 1 dalesky reacted to this
dalesky Report post Posted June 7, 2013 Have you noticed, other than a few gripes and the click in the drive train, the overall view of the Fusion has been pretty much all positive(with the exception of :baby: ) I mean even though the one I had had some pretty weird problems, I would still get another one if I could(believe, been trying to figure this one out for weeks now). I find that pretty unusual for a brand new first year model. I think, since this car is based on a global platform, actually the Mondeo, it is not really a "new" car. Ford has put a lot marbles into this one to set a standard for a "large" car, by European standards at least. Here in the US this car is competing in the very important segment of family sedans. It's a tough segment to compete in. These facts gave me confidence that the car would be a keeper. That, and the almost universal high reviews by industry testers. We, as FFH buyers are parsing things a little more, by purchasing a hybrid. 2nd gen, but still, pretty new stuff. So, I agree and am impressed also with this first year model, and how much they got right. I have mostly bought new cars in my life, and this one is as goodas any, and better than some on initial quality. From what we post here that seems to be true for many of us. 2 B25Nut and hybridbear reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted June 7, 2013 I would say, if you do buy a first year model, wait for Job 2. It seems like the vast majority of JOB 2 cars have been trouble free. 1 corncobs reacted to this
mokee Report post Posted June 7, 2013 I like it the Forum because the Moderators are only allowed 15 posts a day, right? Thanks GrySql - I find a good belly laugh in the morning is very healthful! :headspin:...Let me be clear about saying that we could not be luckier in the choice of our moderators. 2 hybridbear and GrySql reacted to this

SteveB_TX Report post Posted June 7, 2013 I wanna thank you guys for allowing me to be a member of your fine forum. As I said in my initial welcome, the two Lincoln forums I am a member of are dead dead dead. It seems they are just lurkers and not participants like here. When I owned the 2005 Mustang GT vert, the two Mustang forums I joined were very busy. It was a type of cultural shock to find the Lincoln forums so useless. 1 elle reacted to this
kuzzi Report post Posted June 7, 2013 I like it here because there is always someone to answer at almost any time. On the XL Forum, no questions get answered on weekends or when there's good weather as everyone is out riding!

When I owned the 2005 Mustang GT vert, the two Mustang forums I joined were very busy. It was a type of cultural shock to find the Lincoln forums so useless. I think this is an exceptionally bonded group because many of us spent a lot of time waiting for our orders and cars to come in after the 13 Fusion was announced, and we talked about it endlessly while waiting. So there's more camaraderie here, and others who join later have the opportunity to join in the fun. Glad to see so many are enjoying their Fusions (and Lincolns, too) :) Edited June 7, 2013 by elle 3 corncobs, SteveB_TX and hybridbear reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted June 8, 2013 I was going to do this as a separate topic, but hopefully there won't be enough responses to justify it. FORUM PET PEEVES Please, enough of the photos of the MPG display. Just state your mileage. We'll trust you. It doesn't have to be verified.I find value in the MPG pics because they help tell the story. I could tell you that I got 65 MPG tonight but that doesn't mean much. Having the trip summary pic which shows it was over 19 miles and 16 were EV miles with a 100% brake score helps to tell the story of my trip. I find that to be the benefit of the pictures, although they take up a lot of space so I try to delete them out when quoting posts. Is it the space they take up on the screen that bothers you? 1 jeff_h reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted June 8, 2013 Hey guys, if anyone has any thoughts or ideas that can make this forum better, its already pretty good, but we can make it better. PM either me or hybridbear your ideas and we will see what we can do. Also if see a thread that you think would make a good sticky, let us know and if we get enough votes we will pin it. Thanks again for all the welcomes, I know I really appreciate it, especially considering the small stint I had here a while back when I did go overboard on my rants and alienated a few members, for that I do apologize, and I promise to not rehash it in the future. 2 B25Nut and GrySql reacted to this

corncobs Report post Posted June 8, 2013 OK, I have to ask: what is a "Job 2 car?"Job 2 started sometime in February if I remember right and please correct me if I'm wrong. They made several changes and additions the Fusion line up. E.g. The HyTi was added; the Energi was added. As far as changes go; the controls for moon roof and interior light were changed from touch to physical button; the aluminium brake and gas pedal cover were removed on HyTi; I believe there are a few more changes. For example none of the Job 2 cars are included in the fuel delivery module recall so more than likely they made changes not visible to customers. 1 hybridbear reacted to this

B25Nut Report post Posted June 9, 2013 although they take up a lot of space so I try to delete them out when quoting posts. Is it the space they take up on the screen that bothers you? Yes, the space they take up sometimes annoys me, especially when there are 3 or 4 and they are repeated in replies. They do have value, it just seemed like they were being overdone during some periods of time. Just my rant, no need for a change. When I attach a photo, it always is posted as a thumbnail. I don't think I do anything different to cause this, but almost all the photos posted by others are full size. Does anyone know why?
acdii Report post Posted June 9, 2013 Job 2 incorporates all the corrections found during the first run out, Job 1. Job 3(if there is one), is the clean up phase where they are finishing out all the orders for the year prior to the retool, or stock change out for the next model year, and incorporating the first run up of the new model year before its Job 1 starts. For me I feel a car built during the Job 2 run will be the most reliable of the entire run due to the corrections and lack of change outs for the upcoming year. So far the current model year is proving that to be the case.

The Forum allows very little storage space to do so which leads to most of us not being able to do that anymore because we've used up that storage space. Thus many of us use other means. I use Photobucket. I don't like the space they take up either which is why I always delete the images out when quoting someone else's post.

It would help a lot space saving wise I could probably change the format in Photobucket but there is nothing available on the app. It's not a big issue for me since I'm doing almost everything thru my iPhone and the pics scale rather nicely to the screen but on the full website they are big for sure. B25Nut Report post Posted June 9, 2013 It appears that any photo that you attach using the forum's system comes through as a thumbnail, but once you reach your quota, it won't attach any more. That's where I'm at now. I attached a photo of my passenger seat last week but now the system won't allow me to attach another. I'll have to delete some earlier photos or start using FB or Photobucket, which I've never done before (which probably means they won't be an option for me).
