neod192 Report post Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) My Fusion has a hard time acquiring the HD Radio signal, and when it does it keeps cutting in and out. I was really excited to get an HD Radio (my first one) because it's FREE and there's more stations than regular FM. Does anyone else have this issue? I'm pretty sure it's not the car and it's my location ... I'm not quite in the Metro area anymore, but I would still think the signal should be strong enough to be able to listen to it - I guess not. acdii Report post Posted April 13, 2013 I had the same problem in the F150. You really need to be close to the tower transmitting the digital signals as they are short range, shorter than FM, and Extremely shorter than AM.
lolder Report post Posted April 14, 2013 (edited) HD radio uses only a tiny fraction of a stations power and despite rumblings about increasing the power it remains pretty much a metropolitan service. It is also proprietary. I think it's ship has sailed. Too bad. Edited April 14, 2013 by lolder
fusionTX Report post Posted April 15, 2013 My HD radio sounds good. I'm not having issues with sound cutting out. I wasn't too impressed with the sound of Sirius, but once I set my DSP setting to surround, it sounds better, some stations better than others.
