GregDallas Report post Posted March 22, 2013 Hi All, After 20+ years of foreign car ownership, I'm back to Ford (my first car was a '79 Ford Granada). Just put a deposit down on a build for a Bordeaux Titanium Hybrid with Driver Assist, Nav, Moonroof, and Adaptive Cruise. Stickers at $36,820. I got it for $32,297. Waiting now for information so I can start tracking its progress. Dealership says 8 weeks, but based on what I've read so far I'm guessing that is optimistic. Looking forward to joining the hybrid revolution! Greg
jeff_h Report post Posted March 22, 2013 Welcome! The 2013 is almost as cool looking as a 79 Granada... almost. Of course the FFH should have headlights that are intact.
B25Nut Report post Posted March 22, 2013 Greg, you'll never regret doing this. My last Ford was also a '79. With so many people switching back to Ford, I think Nissan will be the competitor affected the most. I've been very happy with the two Nissans (Infiniti) we owned in the past, but their current styling miscues (Juke, Cross Cabriolet, etc), transmission problems (Altima) and the lack of hybrid and other advanced technologies does not bode well for them. 1 jeff_h reacted to this

Funny you mention that. I'm a LONG time Nissan fan. I have a 1993 300ZX twin turbo and founded www.twinturbo.net. Since I have plenty of HP for the weekends, I was looking for a hybrid as a daily driver.. balance out my environmental karma :) My trade-in is an '04 Infiniti G35 (couldn't go to the 350Z at the time. I needed the backseat for small kids). I've always been a fan of Nissan, but I agree that some of the new styling just isn't there. I hope these new Fords are reliable and well built. That's my biggest concern going in, but the combination of features, styling, roominess, cost, and hybrid availability makes the Fusion unmatched by the others in my opinion so I went for it. aaronj1159 Report post Posted March 22, 2013 Personally I'm an ex-Volkswagen guy. I learned on a Beetle and was very very happy with my Jetta that I just traded. I know recently they've had some reliability (and in my opinion styling) issues, but neither of my cars gave me a single bit of trouble. But with their deteriorating reputation and the bland design they've chosen to go with, I started looking outside the brand. That pretty quickly led me to the Fusion. By the way, excellent choice for the color! I love my Bordeaux.
GregDallas Report post Posted March 22, 2013 Welcome! The 2013 is almost as cool looking as a 79 Granada... almost. Of course the FFH should have headlights that are intact. That's it! (although mine was white with red velour interior).... it looked a lot worse than that one by the time I was done. There's a reason insurance companies charge a lot for 16-18 year old males :)

Styling miscues is right. In my humble opinion, Nissan Juke is uglier than the Pontiac Aztek!
ace8726872 Report post Posted March 27, 2013 Funny you mention that. I'm a LONG time Nissan fan. I have a 1993 300ZX twin turbo and founded www.twinturbo.net. Great looking car, 300ZX Twin Turbo that is. I feel like the car design these days are not as exciting as the ones from the 1990's. They still look way better than most cars today, with an obvious exception to 2013 FFH. When I say "they", I mean the likes of Nissan 300ZX, Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, Audi Quattro, VW Corrodo, Dodge Conquest, Acura NSX, etc.
murphy Report post Posted March 27, 2013 We just ordered today and got a deal number. When can we start tracking the order? Is the deal number of any use?I don't know what a deal number is. You need the dealer's ID number and the order number for the car to track it.Did you get a Vehicle Order Confirmation document from the dealer? Both numbers are on that document. chrispal Report post Posted April 1, 2013 I got the order number and dealer number. I looked in the "tools for looking up your order" section and it looks like I need a VIN to get more information. Please correct me if there is another way. Ordered: SE, 505A, Tech Package, Voice Activated Navigation, Reverse Sensing (my wife wanted that and camera), Ruby Red with Dune Leather. I hope the color doesn't slow down the order. It looks like there was a hold on the ruby red paint for a while.

jeff_h Report post Posted April 1, 2013 Thanks. It's amazing somebody volunteers to do that for people they don't even know. Based on looking at the timestamps of the posts in reply to tracking requests, it doesn't take that long to pull the status, however he does it on his own time and so bam-bam-bam the replies on the requests are posted in short order, which is why the need for re-posting the VIN or dealer / order when bumping the thread, as noted in the rules... so read and heed the rules and you will get a prompt reply.
