Moon roof n Driver Asst Pkg

Recommended Posts

Fusion owners with moon roof, would you get it again? Is it worth it? What about the Driver Asst Pkg? Would you get it again? Is it worth it?

We have moonroof and love it. That was the biggest reason that we chose the Fusion over the C-Max...if only the C-Max moonroof opened...

My last 3 cars all had a moonroof and I wouldn't buy another car without one. I was a little concerned when I ordered my FFH because I heard it reduces the headroom. But now that I have it I found there is absolutly no problem with the headroom at all. Now I just have to wait for the warmer weather so I can use it.

I didn't get the Driver Assist Pkg so I really can't comment on that.

If I may ask, how tall are you?

I would give up my Navigation before loosing my Moonroof. The fact that it gives you Homelink for the garage is an added bonus. Some reviews criticized the touch sensitive "buttons" in the FFH. They took me a while to get accustomed to, but with the warmer weather here I've been using the Vent function of the Moonroof a lot and I really like the light touch it takes to operate it. Like the turn signal lever, once you develop the "mussel memory" to operate them correctly, you find that Ford has developed a superior design.

The design and function of the Moonroof appears to be perfect. The accordion cloth sides are a nice feature that help keep foreign objects like leaves out of the car and, and I would guess, reduce wind noise. The feel of openness and brightness the Moonroof adds to the interior is worth the extra cost by itself, along with the quick cooling of the vent function.

I'm a hair under 6' and have plenty of headroom. My 6'2" son also didn't have a problem. I also didn't get the DA package.

Not to butt in, but I'm 6-3+ and I have more headroom in my 2013 than my 2010 - both with moon roofs. No issue with me. My wife is 5-1+ and she also has no headroom issues. :) I will add that with the extreme height difference we both REALLY like the memory seats and that our preferred settings are activated by our respective remote unlocking buttons.

Ah nice. Being 5'11" it should feel like I'm in the Sistine Chapel then when my moonroof equipped Fusion arrives.

The driver's seat has a large range of adjustment for height so it accommodates almost everybody.

Wow, I am really in the minority, I guess! I ordered my FFH WITHOUT the moonroof, primarily because my last 3 cars all had a moonroof/sunroof and I don't think I opened it more than once every year or two. Of course here in S. Florida, most of the time, the A/C is running constantly.

But I would not be without the Driver Assist package. The Lane Keeping system and BLIS are truly life-savers. Truth be told, either my rain-sensing wipers and Auto-high beams are not working, or I haven't figured out how they work, but I'm not as concerned with them as I am with how great the Lane Keeping and BLIS work.

As always, just my opinion.

Mine is a pretty basic model feature-wise. No moon roof or drivers assist pkg. My previous 2 cars both had moon/sun roofs, and I rarely opened them. Not only that, they became sources or air leakage as the cars aged. I also took pretty good care of them, paying extra attention to the seals. But I decided I wasn't interested in that feature for the FFH (I also don't have a garage right now so that part of the feature wasn't important to me). I would have been interested in the drivers assist package, but it wasn't a dealbreaker for my car to be without it, and when I found my exact car on a lot, I moved fast.

You have to turn on the auto high-beam and rain sensing function is the left gauge settings,

I actually just found a Ford Fusion Hybrid video page from Ford https://owner.ford.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=Owner/Page/OwnerVideoPage that gives some instructions on how to use many of the features. I'm going to try them both again now that I've watched the videos - if they still don't work, I'll bring the car into the dealership this weekend.

My last two cars had it and my Energi will have it. In the 19 years I've maybe closed it 20 or so times. I have a deflector, so even in rain it's open and venting air... The only reason I would close it is maybe biting cold or parking in the rain.

Don't want to live without a moonroof, unless its a convertible. Driver assist package will be very useful and a great safety device I expect.
