ace8726872 Report post Posted March 16, 2013 I had my 2013 FFH for little over a month. I had issues with MyFord Touch twice now. Once was when my iPhone5 wouldn't connect to the car. I deleted my iPhone5, thinking I will just re-connect but I kept getting error when I tried to reconnect. I had to do Master Reset to clear it up and get my phone connected. The 2nd time was today. I was listening to music from my iPhone5 while connected to the USB connector. All of a sudden, the music stopped and MyFord Touch froze completely. It didn't respond to anything, phone, nav, entertainment or climate screens were all frozen. Only thing that worked was the climate control from the buttons below the screen. It was frozen for a few minutes and all of a sudden it came back. When it came back up, the screen went nuts trying to catch up to all my touches while it was down, almost like it cached the commands. Anyway, did anyone experience this issue or any other issues? acdii Report post Posted March 16, 2013 At least it wasnt a blue screen of death! MFT is the one item that is really hurting Ford in the reviews on every vehicle it is installed in.
mokee Report post Posted March 16, 2013 (edited) My MFT went to black a couple weeks ago. I re-seated the MMC card and it re-loaded and has been OK since. Don't knock Bill and his boys...a lot people make a nice living troubleshooting and fixing their glitches. RedLdr1 Report post Posted March 17, 2013 Ford is supposed to be releasing MFT Version 3.5.1, and Version A4 maps for cars with Navigation, by the end of this quarter to address the MFT issues. Non-hybrids are already using 3.5.1 but it need "tweaked" for our cars... At least the version of MFT in my FFH is less buggy than the one in my C-Max but they both need some serious work. As far as Microsfot writing code...well that is why this reply is being typed on an iMac.... ;) :) 1 ace8726872 reacted to this
hermans Report post Posted March 17, 2013 They have released 3.5.1 and A4 maps. My FFH with navigation was built with it on 11/17. The dealer I go to had it in early January.

When I picked up my car it came with 3.2.2, so I asked the dealership to update it before I picked it up. They also installed the A4 maps card too. You will know if you have the new update 3.5.1 when you have a dedicated hybrid button next to the home key on the screen. It will show you the current state of the Hybrid drive and reasons as to why the ICE is running. Oh I don't know for sure if MFT is made by Microsoft. I think it is only the voice Sync system that was designed by Microsoft. Edited March 17, 2013 by JSKershaw
storksb Report post Posted March 17, 2013 So MFT version 3.5.1 is not officially available for hybrid vehicles with NAV at this time though some dealers are upgrading vehicles to it.. I was told this by the dealer a couple of weeks ago, and this was confirmed to me yesterday by the MFT helpdesk.I asked for a release date and was told later this year and that it was in beta testing and that it may be a completely new version and not 3.5.1. The wait goes on.
hermans Report post Posted March 17, 2013 (edited) I really don't think it's a BETA version as the factory has put it in cars being built. If it is the BETA version - it works flawlessly in my car. Edited March 17, 2013 by hermans
acdii Report post Posted March 18, 2013 Has anyone noticed the colors on the MFT match the windows emblem? Same colors, different order.
aaronj1159 Report post Posted March 18, 2013 Yeah when my dad got in the car the first time, he said "These colors remind me of something. Kinda like the Windows symbol." haha.

JSKershaw Report post Posted March 18, 2013 I really don't understand why some dealerships refuse to install 3.5.1 update with Nav on Hybrids. It's available because many of us have it and it has worked great for me as well. Not one issue yet.

No problems other than 'pilot error' so far.If I like the way it works is neither here nor there, it is working as installed. Sometimes I'm not. My car has Nav, others have had it installed at different dealers around the country. The Microsoft Sync website says you can download it from there, anyone tried it? There is even a new MS YouTube video that walks you through the update process. It starts slow but eventually gets to the directions. You can get the A4 card from a Dealer of just buy one yourself, they are common and inexpensive. Edited March 18, 2013 by GrySql
acdii Report post Posted March 18, 2013 If it isnt on the dealers computer for your VIN, then they wont install it since it wont be covered by the warranty. The dealer may have the software and flash card, but if your VIN comes up blank, they aren't supposed to do it.

Yep, this was exactly the issue I encountered at my dealer, does not show up for my VIN. They even gave me a copy of the notice from Ford about not installing 3.5.1 on NAV Hybrid / electric vehicles. ace8726872 Report post Posted March 22, 2013 Does your MFT play nice with iPhone5? Since my one and only MFT master reset, it's been acting up a bit. When I connect my iPhone5 via USB cable, both the REPEAT and SHUFFLE buttons don't respond. I think this is a known issue with iOS devices. Anybody know a fix for this? Thanks. acdii Report post Posted March 22, 2013 Get an iPhone 4? Seems to work ok with mine, though in my 10 I find I have to unplug the USB and plug it back in to make it work after receiving a call.
ace8726872 Report post Posted March 22, 2013 My iPhone5 is a company phone so I don't have a choice in getting a different phone, unless I want to carry two phones with me.
acdii Report post Posted March 22, 2013 I was being sarcastic :) There is something glitchy between Sync and the iPhones, so its not just yours. This morning I had to unplug the phone twice before Pandora started to play.
