acdii Report post Posted March 11, 2013 Just checked and while building the exact model I found out that the Drivers tech package went up $140. Nothing new was added to it though.
jeff_h Report post Posted March 11, 2013 I think I saw in another thread that the moonroof option was also higher? I wonder if that's a common mid-year change between Job 1 and Job 2 (or thereabouts) to adjust things as needed?
Riggo Report post Posted March 11, 2013 Since I already have my VIN and my order confirmation from my dealer I'm assuming they are not going to try to pass these charges on to me at the last minute.
neod192 Report post Posted March 11, 2013 (edited) From what I can tell, here are the prices increases:Driver Assist Packase: $1,000 to $1,140Moonroof: $895 to $995Active Park Assist: $795 to $895White Platinum tri-coat paint: $495 to $59518" luxury painted wheels: $495 to $595My VOC does say: "This is not an invoice. It provides tentative price information that would apply if the vehicle is produced to the specifications shown. Prices are subject to change without notice." So I sure hope they don't try and charge me the higher prices. That said, here's what was posted on the blue oval forum: As per Ford's long standing policy (20 years+)... customer "Retail" orders (Order Type "1") are automatically "price protected" to the date that the order was received by Ford. As vehicles are invoiced when the vehicle enters the "in production" status, when the invoice differs from the original order pricing, the Dealership files a claim with Ford for the retail order price adjustment. But then fusion11 (GM at a Ford dealership) said: They just get re-invoiced and Ford sends a new MSRP to the Dealership. So, I assume if it costs them more money, they will forward that to the consumer. Also worth noting is that the base price dropped from $32,200 to $32,100, most likely to account for the exclusion of the Aluminum brake and accelerator pedal covers. fusionTX Report post Posted March 11, 2013 For X-Plan peeps. Sounds like we are price-protected. At least that's how I read it. The New Vehicle Purchase Program customer is entitled to the price in effect at the time the vehicle was invoiced. Any money refunded to the dealer by Ford Motor Company for price increases occurring after the order is submitted, but before shipment to the dealer, must be refunded to the customer. https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerweb/jsp/howitworks/fordpartner_rules.htm#faq23

Riggo Report post Posted March 11, 2013 I'm so confused if these price increases to the moonroof, park assist etc. are going to affect me. As far as I'm concerned since I have already placed the order and had an invoice before these increases, I should be ok. Is that how you see it? I did not buy with any kind of X-plan, just plain old normal negotitating.

Riggo Report post Posted March 11, 2013 The best way to find out if to call your sales person and ask. If I call him and ask then that opens me up to them saying "oooooh, well yep, we're going to have to increase your price." I think I'll wait for them to contact me if there is any change and at that point I'll bring out the contract we had with the final price on it. I guess that's the only way to handle it. Montacute Report post Posted March 12, 2013 18" luxury painted wheels have also gone up from $495 to $595. I noticed this on the window sticker of a car that is "in transit" to the dealer.

fusionTX Report post Posted March 12, 2013 I guess they are popular options and looks like customers would be willing to pay for them?As a stockholder, I approve :) I think they are alone in the segment offering some of these things, so they can set the price.I would not pay 600 for the platinum white though. I got the park assist because I wanted the front sensors, which they don't offer standalone. I don't know ifI would get it with the price increase. Riggo Report post Posted March 12, 2013 Maybe these price increases are Ford saying to all of us who have been waiting for our orders, "here is an increase to the overall resale value of your car that you don't have to pay for." Probably not but I figured I'd throw that out there

From looking at some recent online stickers, those 'printed' in Feb still had the old pricing but those more recent ones from March seemed to all have the increased option prices so about March 1st looks to be the cutover. One of the things that is so attractive about this car is that it offers a lot of luxury, technology and styling for the money. At the end of the day, it's still a Ford, and if you start pricing it too closely to its more high-end competition, some customers will make different choices. Ford has to be careful not to price themselves out of this nice little market niche they've created for themselves with this car. neod192 Report post Posted April 5, 2013 Has anyone picked up their car after the increase and used X-Plan? My car's here and the dealer wants to charge me the new price. They're saying I'm price protected and I'll get a refund check from Ford for the difference. I want my old price up-front minus $100 (or x-plan equivalent) for the missing aluminum pedal covers ... What would you do?
