Do you have MPG Photo Journal to share?

Recommended Posts

After every commute, I try to take pictures of the trip summary and the lifetime summary for fun. I can also see how driving styles, different routes, temperature and weather affects MPG over time. I will keep updating my journal until I no longer have the car, or the gas price goes down below $2.00. Here is the link to my journal.

Hybridbear told me about something that I didn't notice, that sometimes the trip summary shows in white numbers and sometimes in blue numbers. Example is yesterday's morning trip was 44.0 in white, and afternoon trip was 52.9 in blue. The difference? Apparently shows in white when less than the current lifetime average, blue when the trip is above.

Good find, hybridbear!

You're right, I just looked at the pics I took recently, they are all blue since the lifetime is only 36 and I have been getting better then that since I put the covers on.

jeff_h, you've got a very long commute!!! :shift: I am sure you are loving the MPG you are getting out of your FFH.

Your worst MPG for your commute was 42.6 and your best was 55.9. That's a 31.2% difference. Just curious if you knew what caused such a difference in your MPG?

Yes, it's normal... the morning commute has colder temps (so the ICE runs harder to get the cabin warm from a cold morning) and I think the terrain is more favorable on the PM commute. The commute has several uneven hills, so more gradual uphills in the morning and gradual downhills in the afternoon. Also it's more likely to encounter traffic jams in the afternoon as we have our friends from NJ, PA, NY, Quebec, Ontario, etc passing through in the afternoons as they go down I-95 to go on vacation and such (Fridays between March and November are like that, Friday commute was 2:15 whereas the drive could be done in an hour with no traffic.)... so temporary traffic jams may be a nuisance but are good for MPG since it's higher when inching along at 10, 20, 30 mph - as long as it doesn't last long enough for the HVB to run down where the ICE has to come on to recharge.

I made one. I dont know how to get it to sort though and some are in the wrong order I think ..

Very nice numbers. But I am afraid you might get accused of "fixing" the numbers in the photos by some members who doesn't even own FFH because everyone in this forum is lying about the great MPG that they are claiming to be getting and there is a big conspiracy and a subsequent cover-up.

But I believe you!

I make a point to photoshop all the photos before i post them. In fact i dont even own a Fusion. CONSPIRACY !!

And it takes me a long time to blurry up the numbers in the display to make them look authentic too.
