I was curious what the typical wait time is for the 2013 FFH, I did a quick search but didn't see anything posted already.

My order is still in "processing" so I have no clue what that really means. As far as I know it coud be 5 months until I get my car. It's frustrating not knowing what's going on with the order.

Our FFH (in a fairly typical confifuration--505A, sunroof, nav, etc.) was special-ordered 1/2/13 and delivered 2/15/13. Six weeks and two days. This was pretty fast, but not atypical right now; Ford has aggressively increased production and has lots of slots to fill. Because I was curious, and a bit of a nerd, I tracked it and a few other cars through the process. There seem to be a few things that can affect wait times:

Things beyond your control: (1) production scheduling; not all models available for order are being produced at full rate (or at all); FFH Titanium, and all Energi models are currently affected; (2) commodity (materials and components) shortages; these seem to be somewhat uncommon right now; (3) recalls, the most frustrating delay of all; if a recall is issued between when a vehicle is produced and when it ships, it is held in storage until the problem is fixed; this was a problem for Fusions produced around November 2012, and some folks are still waiting for those vehicles; no recalls on the vehicles being produced now, though.

Things you can control: (1) order priority, which is set by your dealer; ensure that he/she sets it at 10; (2) AXZ Plan participation; special orders participating in this employees/suppliers/friends program seem to move through the process slightly (about a week) faster.

In short, it probably won't be long, unless you are hit with one of the hard-to-predict situations above. I enjoyed the wait...anticipation can be fun and there are lots of ways to keep track of what's happening: Ford's window sticker generator, ETIS, your dealer, Cyberdman on these forums, Trina at Ford (on Facebook), and Ford's chat hosts. Good luck!

Riggo, how long have you been waiting?

Ha, I just put my order in about a week and a half ago, so not long at all. I was basing my wait time from how long its taken others to get their car.

I'm new here, and my dealer said the 6-8 weeks too, hope he's right. We ordered end of January and no VIN yet. Will bug them again the end of this week. My salesman said the VIN would be available in a couple weeks. I guess just keep waiting. My one rebate runs out Apr 1st.

I just got my VIN through chat at the build my hybrid on ford.com. Went to etis and got a build date of 30.11.0002 what ever that means. Going to call my dealer this week and see whats going on, he was supposed to let me know the VIN.

The '30.11.0002' means that the VIN has not been built yet... when you see that change to a real date (will be in a format reverse of what you're probably accustomed, it's a global site) that means the car has been built... and don't freak out when the site says Transit Connect, it says that for all of the Fusion VINs that I've run through there.

When I ordered 10-Jan I was told 12-20 weeks (yes, really). They then entered the order 15-Jan & it sits in unscheduled - clean since. Although people in the December range are getting scheduled for week 3 & 4 of march as of this week. So... maybe next week for me for week 1 of April, plus 3 weeks to delever to central Texas and prep; right at 16 weeks total, IFF (if and only if) things runs as they seem to for others.

They seem to be pretty motivated to get the Energi's out there so hopefully it will.

To answer the original post. I ordered my SE hyrbrid when I got back from Afghanistan on 21 NOV 13....build date of 20 FEB (thats with priority# of 5) ....eta to dealer is the week of 10 March.....Truthfully right now since Ford is just getting back and on track with their production regiment it all depends on region allocation. Some areas of US get have a higher FFH allocation than others.

The Hybrids and energies are on the weekly commodities list. the larger the dealer the more allocations they get. If your dealer has sold a lot of 2013 Fusion Hybrids you will probably get yours sooner.

REGIONAL CONTROLLED COMMODITIES:
* If underlined, Commodities are allocated by SIMS to the Dealer level
Style 2 Alloy 18 Wheel – D2ULB – (64B) - Optional with 205A or 505A
1.6 PI TC I4 Ethnl – EN-RN – (99R)
2.0L TIVCT GTDI T/C 240PS GAS - EN-R9 – (999)
2.5L DOHC PFI 4 Cyl Gas - EN-S7 – (997)
Gas/Electric Hybrid – GBVAZ - (P0L & P0R)
Hybrid less Tech Pkg – OBD8Y – (P0L w/503A less 14L)
Series 5 – VS-DA – (P0G - S Series)

By the way due to a early user glitch, my user name on the Fusion and MKZ forum is chuckokie.

My dealership, Galpin Ford, bills itself as the "#1 volume Ford dealer in the world..." I hope, with all due respect to those who ordered before me, that that will make a positive difference.

I know there are dealers that have them in stock here so I'm assuming people are looking for curtain colors or options.

I'm still waiting for mine to show up on etis or the window sticker printer. My dealer brags he has 500 pickups on the lot, but isn't very helpful to a car purchaser. I can't get much info out of them.

MIne is an FFH SE with most of the options. Order Date: 12/18/12. Build Date: 2/19/13. As of today, still sitting on the lot in Mexico. No answer as to ETA.

They are letting it bask in the sun and mellow out before being put to work :D

I ordered my FFH over 13 weeks ago and I'm still waiting with no end in sight (despite the initial estimate of 7-9 weeks). Here's the timeline. Is anyone else having multiple delays and inspections due to "quality control" issues? It sure doesn't give me confidence in the manufacturing process here...

12/1/12 – order placed.

1/13/13 – car built

1/31/13 – I'm told shipment was delayed due to need to install remote start off-site

2/5/13 – I'm told there is further delay because Ford has temporarily stopped shipping on all Fusions for some type of "quality control" checks.

2/15/13 – car has been released and is on train.

2/28/13 – in response to my question about why train is taking longer than expected, I'm told car has been diverted to the Ford plant at Flat Rock, MI for a re-inspection to ensure that a quality concern on that particular run has been fixed. No ETA.

I would rather have the car delayed over a known issue than have it delivered not working 100%.

Problem was that there was no problem (with my car anyways). My car never moved and it never had anything listed on ETIS. It just sat there week after week, month after month, until I started putting a little pressure on the dealership to get some answers from Ford. Once the calls to Ford were made the car was on the train the following week... Coincidence? Maybe, but at least it finally arrived.

I ordered my FFH TI on 6 DEC. Still no Vin, build date, or any information from my dealer... Does Ford really care about selling cars?
