Really Hoping for April

Recommended Posts

Hoping for a April delivery for my HyTi. Our dealer let us order with no money down as long as he thinks that he can sell the car easy if we decide not to buy it. The thing is, if the delivery gets pushed out past April, I am wondering if I should just wait for the 14 model year? Probably will be about the same price and features and will only be a few more months down the road. I really hate waiting longer but this is a big investment and a newer model year will help with resale at some point. I know that some people have been waiting for the HyTi's for a LONG time. It's hard when you have made up your mind to spend this much money and them be made to wait for some undetermined amount of time. Maybe it will be easier when some people on this forum actually have firm delivery dates. :kuko:

I was told by my dealer that there probably not be a 14. Since the 13 came out in Dec of 12, they were going to wait a year and come out with a 15 next.

Just to muddy the water .... :)

That doesn't seem likely, given the RDT cycles that probably go along with each model year... does anyone know of a case where a model year is 'skipped' due to timing? Maybe it's somewhat of a common thing and I don't realize it, but I just can't think of one of the top of my head.

They won't cancel/skip a model year. They will continue making the vehicles and re-brand the 2013 to 2014. If changes need to be made half way through the production line they will do it, just like they are doing it now with the Energi, MKZ and the HyTi. There probably won't be any major changes from 2013 to 2014. You will probably see more changes from 2014-2015 (but really who wants to wait that long???).

This subject - true $ value of TiHy if delivery is late in CY2013 was something I brought up in the JOB2 status thread about 2 weeks ago. If delivery doesn't occur before end of QTR 2 2013, I will seriously consider waiting until after the CY2014 models are available unless Ford provides an equivalent rebate equal to the fair $ value of car's depreciated cost.

I am just passing on what my dealer told me. A dealer that I have bought 5 new F150's and Expeditions from over the last 15 years or so. I doubt they would lie to me.

Now, I know the Corvette was skipped a year in 82 between the C3 and C4 generations, so it does have precedence. Also I have seen Ford come out with a "mid" year with minor changes. So yes, I think it is plausible that they might do it. Since the model cycle starts in the Summer and the 13 actually came out in Dec .... do the math ... :)

Who knows, the Superduty redesign was done in early 1998 marketed as a 99.

We're not changing generations from '13 to '14 MYs, that happened last fall. Only expect some minor tweaks, if anything, for when the '14s start later this summer. The first '13s started arriving in Sep with Hybrids in Nov, and they had to deal with delays from the normal new generation production problems. Don't expect them to skip the '14 MY. The cars should be virtually identical. Remember, they also want to unlock all those sales to those waiting that never buy a first year of a new generation vehicle.

Well it looks like a bunch of people who ordered their HyTi's in Oct and Nov are getting their Vins and build dates in late March. That means that by the time Ford works their way up to the Feb orders I can expect a build date some time late April at best. Could be late May or early Jun till I get my car. Bummer.

I just ordered mine yesterday Toz. Im hoping since they just started on the titanium hybrid production that they move faster than they were. Hoping anyway.

My guess is y'all will be scheduled in early April - depending on your dealer's allocation.

ETA late April or more likely early May with 3-4 weeks transit given y'all's location:

... normal transportation time of 10-14 days. Please add an additional one to three weeks on vehicles destined for the Western States, Alaska, Hawaii or east and west provinces of Canada.

That is as long as HSAP avoids shoving any more cars into the TBD quality hold they did last Oct.

sigh, there is no justice, I just saw over on Blue oval forum that people that have ordered their car a over week after mine already have their VIN's. Well maybe that should give me hope that I will get a build date sooner than later.

My dealer just emailed me and said that "that your Fusion is previewing this week and should have a VIN by next week." What ever that means.

well it's the 19th of March and still no VIN or build date. That April delivery that I was hoping for is looking to be pretty un-realistic. Can I change the thread to "Hoping For May"?

I still think April may be within reach for your order. Much depends on your dealer's allocation, your priority number and the Ruby Red paint supply. But plan for May and if it comes in "early" you'll be happy.

I just got my vin yesterday Toz. Maybe yours is there, or about to be there. I ordered Feb 27th.

Well I guess that's good news.....or it just means that every one else is getting their car before me! ! Well on a more serious note, I guess I will just have to bug my dealer again on Friday.

Time for me to get into this :)... I am in the process of negotiating my order, either a TI or SE, not decided yet. Depends on price. I am doing the Costco Auto program, and getting $600.00 over invoice. Which my dealer indicates is a great price.

I am leaning towards the TI, I just wish I didn't have to get black charcoal seats :(. Use the car for work driving in the California desert, and at 110 degrees plus black leather isn't the best option.

I want Dune leather but was told can't do it in the TI. So weighing options. Maybe seat covers for the summer.

Anyway, I want to get it banged out, and ordered this week.

Hopping for delivery in mid-May, but reading all of this sounds like I may be too optimistic.

I certainly see and understand the benefits of the Ti's, but after I saw the Dune leather interior, I couldn't go without. To me, it almost makes the interior seem bigger. Really the only thing I really wish I could get is the Sony sound system, and the push button start would be nice... but the dune far outweighed those things in my decision making process.

Seat covers though would help a lot. Since my other car has the light interior, I get to see first hand how dirty they can get, so the dark interior is preferable for me with the piggy kids in the back, which is reason #1 for getting leather, So much easier to clean than cloth when you have little piglets.
