Finally came!

Recommended Posts

Ordered my Oxford White '13 Hybrid SE on 12/12/12 and I picked her up on Tuesday! I love it! It's been 15-30 degrees F here in Illinois with some mean winds and I've still managed 38-42 mpg trip averages on my 30-mile commute. Got 56 on a 3.5-mile in-town trip yesterday. Can't wait til warmer weather!

Yes! The dealership had a White Platinum one come in at the same time and I looked at them together and was so glad I got the Oxford.

Looks great! Glad you're able to get such good MPG in the colder weather... last week on a mild day I got 48 MPG on the way to work, yesteday was 44 MPG when it was 30 degrees, this morning was 42 MPG when it was 24 degrees, so the cold weather forcing the heat to run more (and no thanks I am not turning it off and freezing for the sake of MPG) really tends to take its toll.

Just curious, what are your average speeds? Would be great if the dash displayed that too.

I drive in 55 speed zones and gas it up to 60-65 and then EV/Coast until I've slowed down to 50 ish. I've only been running the heat on low. About half my 30-mile weekday commute is pretty hilly though, so I ease up going uphill. I've got 200 miles since I picked her up with 12 miles on the odo and my lifetime average has gone from 25 to 34.5.

I think this is a big factor going up and down hills and using zero gas on the way down, or however you want to drive it... My route to work is hilly and the MPG is good, however the route to church is 16 miles almost totally flat and even setting the cruise at the speed limit of 55 will keep the car on a level but rarely go into EV mode though it always seems to be on the verge of it, and so on those trips the MPG is not so good.

tombarker13ffh, we are about on the same schedule! I ordered my FFH on 12/18/12, and I just found out I will have it within the week. I'm so excited, and I love that I am reading about people who are getting the kind of mileage I am hoping I will get as well. There are a few people who, for whatever reason, are not getting the 40+ range, but it's great to hear the good news about yours. I'm lucky to be living in FL, where I pretty much NEVER have to use the heat, so I"m anticipating at least decent MPG (without having to sacrifice the heat!)

GOOD LUCK! And WELCOME!
