nehmia Report post Posted February 13, 2013 (edited) Well, just got off the phone with the dealer handling my HyTi order. Was emailing the salesman back and forth about adding NAV and Sunroof and what not. I asked about getting the DORA when they have it available from Ford, and was ignored on the initial request. I asked again, and was told "Not until car is built and a VIN number assigned." I found this a tad odd, as a DORA just shows the order was received by Ford... pretty simple stuff. So to save confusion... I figured I would call. Salesman answers promptly, I give a warm greeting back and explain that the DORA should be available fairly soon after the order is placed. He explains he gave me a print out of the dealer invoice... I said no... that's not what I am requesting. I ask again, he says let me talk to my manager (annoyed tone). I wait 3 minutes, he comes back and explains first that they don't know what a DORA is! Interesting. He then ask if I want the window sticker...??? This is where I become frustrated I mention to him they are one of the largest Ford dealers in my area, and you are telling me you do not know what a DORA is, and are not able to provide one with no hassle? He took offense somehow to this, and immediately asked if I wanted to cancel. This took me aback, I had to ask him who is the customer and who is the salesmen here... as it seems you're the one getting fairly upset while I am requesting something simple. He asked multiple times again about canceling, so because he so kindly suggested so... I did! Now starts the fun adventure of receiving my $500 deposit back. This is the second dealer also, the first gave me the run around on my USAA car buying service, and when I mentioned X-Plan they decided to not return calls (even with $1000 deposit which I did get back). FACK! edit: This is a rant post, sorry! cliffs: Dealer gave me run around on DORA, then attitude, then repeatedly asking if I wanted to cancel. So I obliged. dlramon Report post Posted February 13, 2013 Not that a DORA is all that important, but its a shame that you got stuck with an idiot for a salesmam. Don't let a dumb dealer prevent you from acquiring what promiseds to be a great car. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that production scheduling starts on a large scale tomorrow as projected! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that production scheduling starts on a large scale tomorrow as projected!Thats the thing... it really is not that "important", but the issue here is the backlash from requesting something so minuscule that it lead to severing the relationship with the dealer. On their behalf no less! I think I will sit on this a week or so and bring it up again with the wife and go from there. The $17k I would save from not getting this car easily pays for the 7-9 MPG difference with our Jetta. Bah, and I was just getting fairly involved in this community! pers69 Report post Posted February 14, 2013 Look at the '14 Mazda6 if you haven't already. Gonna take a test ride Sat in a loaded Grand Touring - better specs and 4 grand cheaper (though hwy is only 38 mpg). Getting a bit fed up with Ford's inability to produce the hybrid titanium fusion. acdii Report post Posted February 14, 2013 Well.... you really dont want my opinion, and I really shouldnt give one at this moment, but if you read my other thread, you can get a fairly good idea of what it would be.

I was checking them out online last week, they def have come a long way. The front grill reminds me a little of the BMW Z4. I'll keep it in mind. You mean all the issues you have been having? Yea I understand, and actually I'm ok with canceling. The ball will be in my court more when I go to shop around again later in the year, and will get to see what is on the horizon for the 2014 model. pers69 Report post Posted February 14, 2013 Sorry your local dealer dropped the ball so badly ... but you may also want to consider speaking that dealers upper management and voice your displeasure. You may also want to inquire at other dealers in the area I still think the car has great potential and would hate to see one dorky low level sales goof botch things for you ....
