Fastronaut Report post Posted February 9, 2013 Probably should have noticed this earlier. Is it connected to the vehicle display?

Your A/V inputs allow you to connect an auxiliary audio/video source (such as a gaming systems or a personal camcorder) by connecting RCA cords (not included) to these input jacks. The jacks are yellow, red and white and are located either behind a small access door on the instrument panel or in your center console. You can also use the A/V inputs as an auxiliary input jack to play music from your portable music player over your vehicle's speakers. Plug in your 1/8 inch (3.5 millimeter) RCA adapter into the two left A/V input jacks (red and white). GrySql Report post Posted February 10, 2013 I have an iPhone 4, used an Apple 30-pin to component connector (W,R,Y & USB), plugged it all in to the console and was able to play video in Park. I was unable to get the Sync Wireless function to work, the keyboard stayed 'greyed out' even after recognizing my home wireless system. 1 Fastronaut reacted to this
terryb Report post Posted February 10, 2013 The aux video is not available in motion. There is a rumored hack.
acdii Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Probably not a good idea to hack it so it works in drive. If you have an accident, the investigators check things like this now, and could work against you. There was a crash last week where a guy drove into a chinese restaurant, the police didn't like his answer and pulled his phone records and found he was texting when he crashed. With the advent of black boxes and such, best to leave something like this that could be considered a driver distraction, alone.

The person in charge of showing us how everything works and pairing our phones to the car didn't even know why the A/V jacks were in the car. He said that was the First one he had ever seen that DID NOT have an AUX input. So if I understand this right I can take a red/white RCA cable that has an adaptor to a single Male 1/8 " audio plug and hook up JUST the red / white RCA from car to say my iPod by way of the 1/8 inch male plug, is that correct and I don't have to use the yellow RCA video for the sound to come out my car system speakers. I have such a cable, but the guy told me I had to use the USB charging cable to hook up my iPod to play my songs. Which if you think about it makes more sense because you want the iPod to charge while playing all of those 2,000 songs but would this cable hook up work. I'll try it out as soon as the wife lets me see the car again, it's gone at the moment. Edited April 1, 2013 by erichFla

JSKershaw Report post Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) I have a portable DVD player attached to the back of my head rest and connected the RCA cables to test out the RCA inputs. The video works only in park, however when I put the car in Reverse or Drive the video screen changes back to the Entertainment screen, but the audio still plays over the stereo. A message shows on the screen about video only available in Park. So there you have it audio will work all the time, but video only in Park. wmpwi Report post Posted May 1, 2013 I just got this cable adapter and it permits video via an iThing and AVI inputs (only in park) rather well. Watched Sky Fall while the wife was shopping. Mine is an older 16G iPhone I use just as a media player and tried a older 32G itouch and that worked as well, but the iPhone also had BT so I can sync it for just audio if I choose. YMMV, but worth the $10 for me.
Chase Report post Posted May 31, 2020 I have just started driving my 2014 fusion and am currently trying to use my ps3 with these, but nothing is coming up when I plug everything in, is there something I am missing? Is it as simple as plugging the red yellow and white plugs and the two prong in? Are there more cords I need? Is there a setting or something i have to press to activate the use of the A/V? Please help, I really wanna use this feature, especially since I’m going to use it as a date idea (I know it’s dumb but I think we’d enjoy it) and I really need to get this working as soon as I can! If anyone knows anything and wants to help, you can FaceTime me and walk me through it @5179181169 and I’d greatly appreciate it! (Please no spams btw)
