ace8726872 Report post Posted March 28, 2013 Say, I'm not exactly that old but I don't understand all these modern slang terms. In the modern lexicon doesn't getting 'hooked up' have other, more, mmm, personal connotations? Ace, not to dash your hopes or anything but I merely mentioned your name to a guy about your shift knob, don't get so excited! :hysterical: Yeah, but it is a very nice looking shift knob! Oh wait, this conversation is going off a tangent and sounding a bit weird! Thanks GrySql for mentioning my shift knob to another guy!?!? 2 acdii and GrySql reacted to this

neod192 Report post Posted March 28, 2013 saying that leather wrapped meant the boot was leather not the shifter.Which part of the "Leather-Wrapped Gear Shift Knob" do they not understand? I'm sorry that your Ford CSM is not educated ...
Osofast Report post Posted March 28, 2013 It took me exactly 5 days to get mine taken care of and I only had to ask once. My car was in for every warning light on the dash lighting up, and I happened to mention to the service rep about the shift knob being a misbuild and he said he would look into it. I didn't really think much of it and didn't think he was going to go anywhere with it. Couple days later he calls and says the knob is in when could I bring the car in to have it put on ! It was and should be that simple. Funny thing is he said he googled the problem and actually found this site and was able to expedite the process because of the information posted here. Hope everyone gets what they paid for

storksb Report post Posted March 29, 2013 Exactly.I just so happened to be talking to my Dealer's Service Writer that took care of my shifter swap about my spare tire they are getting for me.I mentioned another member here that wants his shift knob replaced with what he paid for and was told 'no problem, have him call me and we'll get it done'. Do not give up, that CS Manager is out of touch. Going to ping the Area rep again tomorrow, this evening, I was at the grocery store and there was an Ice Blue hybrid parked next to mine. It was an SE, peering through the window it had the Luxury pack and MFT, It had the leather wrapped shifter, pity it was dark and the owner wasn't around or I would have tried to snap a picture. hybrid47 Report post Posted March 30, 2013 As I had noted in my earlier post, I did not go to my dealer with this problem, but instead wrote to Ford in an E-mail, regarding the issue with the incorrect shifter having been installed in my Ford Fusion Hybrid SE with the 505A package. It took Ford a little over four weeks to respond to my E-mail this time, but they did acknowledge the build problem and referred the issue to my regional Ford manager for resolution. The regional Ford manager called me several days after I received the E-mail reply from Ford, and discussed the problem with me and initiated the ordering of the correct leather replacement shifter, which he had sent directly to my local dealer. My local dealer called several days later to say that they had received the replacement shifter, and that they would like to setup an appointment to have the new shift knob installed. I had it installed this week, and as you can see by the photo below, all is well in my Ford Fusion Hybrid garage! 2 fusionTX and hybridbear reacted to this

I was afraid something like this would happen to mine so I havent' addressed this issue, since getting to my dealer is a hassle. I've been thinking that I'll wait until my wrong shifter starts to look a little worn, then get the replacement. I hope there isn't a statute of limitations. I hope there isn't a statute of limitations. Some Dealers won't change it even now, when the cars are still new. In your case I'd get it all arranged soon, timing it for your oil change or other service at the same session - making sure they pre-order the correct shifter. The day before I'd call to double check that the 'new' shifter has a silver top and they are ready in all respects. Then I'd make the trip. Double check everything before you leave their facility. As you know, my Dealer mis-ordered the gear shifter but filled my empty gas tank for each trip and bought us lunch both times for their mistake.Being treated like that makes a person want to go back to their Service Department. 1 fusionTX reacted to this

storksb Report post Posted April 2, 2013 So my dealer called me earlier today, they have just received a notice from Ford of a customer satisfaction program to replace the misbuild shifter that many of us have. My dealer was very apologetic and somewhat embarrassed that they gave me the run around. So this Friday I will hopefully finally get the correct shifter. GrayStrider Report post Posted April 7, 2013 I checked out the build sheet from the FordEtis site under "minor Features" for my Hybrid that I have on order. SE with most options including the 505A package. The build sheet lists "With Leather Gear Shift Knob". But on the window sticker, the only listing is "Leather Wrapped Str Wheel". No mention of the gear shift. I'll be sure to take the build sheet and the brochure which both list the leather shift knob. We'll see what I get.I have the bumpy urethane one, and we paid for the 505A Luxury Package like many of you did, too. Our window sticker also says 'leather wrapped str wheel' under the list of interior items, no mention of gear shifter, yet on the Ford site, it lists 'Leather-wrapped gear shift knob' as a feature of the 505A Luxury Package. Will ask about it when we take it in for our first service.

Make sure you read Post 140, it explains that the memo should be in all the Dealers hot hands. They should be happy to replace it.I'd call and have them order the correct shift knob before your Service, get it all done at once that way.The part # is: CJ5Z7213FA 1 hybridbear reacted to this

erichFla Report post Posted April 8, 2013 (edited) How did you folks get your Build Sheets ? My Dealer told me to go to Ford Gear dot com and buy it for $17.00. That doesn't seem right to me. I shouldn't have to buy my own car's build sheet. My dealership is giving me the run around already and all I did was call and ask about it. The Service Manager didn't call me back to schedule an appointment, just to look at it and take pictures, how hard can that be.Seems I made a BIG mistake of buying my car here. UpDate: I found out I needed to download Adobe Reader, I'm on a Mac. Your Build Sheet is on the FordEtis web site and it's FREE.Here is some of it and what it looks like for My Car. Yeah, mine had "less" a lot of features that I had ordered on my car. I got freaked out there for a second. The window sticker is right though.
