mmorri12 Report post Posted February 16, 2013 I decided that $4000 buys a lot of gas, so keeping mine and going to get the correct shifter. Now to find a sub and better speakers and get this thing rockin! funny... thats why I started looking on this forum in the 1st place was to see if anyone had done mods to their stereo. I was looking if there's a way to add HD radio to the factory radio or what kind of speaker replacements have been done...
acdii Report post Posted February 16, 2013 The trick is to find upgrades that work with the existing head unit, and a sub that doesn't take up a ton of room, since trunk space is at a premium.

That's it?Why not post this in your summary thread so we can keep track of your decisions, not here in an obscure place where few will notice. After all the various stances you've taken in your hundreds of posts I'm sure there are some that would like to know this final decision. He set it right for me so I am not losing $4000. Only losing about $1500 instead and I can live with that. I posted in the opinion thread I created. Keeping the 2010 hybrid, trading out the 2013 for a 2013 Non Hybrid Ti, same exact options. Though I tried to ignore the low MPG, I still tried to play the game and it just kept eating at me, and I know I will never be happy with the car, but would be perfectly content with the Ecoboost in the Ti Trim. I already have one hybrid for the daily driver, this is going to be my toy that the whole family can enjoy. I was heavily leaning towards an MKT or Flex, but they would have to be used, and that bothered me, I seriously considered a Toyota, but would be giving up too much for a few more MPG. This may not get me 33 MPG, but it will get more than the MKT or Flex, and I can still tow with it.
Ric Report post Posted February 19, 2013 Anyone get the correct shift knob installed yet? My dealer has ordered it, will call when it comes in.

Ric Report post Posted February 19, 2013 Dealer called, shift knob came in today. They ordered it yesterday. Installation on Thursday.
mmorri12 Report post Posted February 19, 2013 please post a pic. several members have posted that their dealer has ordered and its to be installed in a few days but so far no one has been able to confirm the part # and if it is indeed the right leather wrapped shifter. Ric Report post Posted February 21, 2013 Correct leather shifter was installed today. Here's a picture, not a great picture but a picture. The part # is: CJ5Z7213FA (handle assembly).
B25Nut Report post Posted February 21, 2013 As Darrel said, I don't see that the change is worth the effort. I'm perfectly happy with mine as it is. 2 jeff_h and JSKershaw reacted to this
elle Report post Posted February 21, 2013 Maybe I'm just dense but I always assumed that the "leather wrapped" part of this meant the leather around the base. If anyone's getting actual leather around the knob, that would be nice, but I didn't expect it!

brcd131 Report post Posted February 21, 2013 (edited) If you got the 505A package, on the car's build sheet it says:"With Leather Gear Shift Knob" I think that's clear what was to be supplied. Edited February 21, 2013 by brcd131
darrel.e.wise Report post Posted February 22, 2013 Is the chrome on the top a button or just decoration? The urethane one does not have that.
hermans Report post Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) It's a chromed plastic piece and it is decoration. Edited February 22, 2013 by hermans
gl419 Report post Posted February 28, 2013 I checked out the build sheet from the FordEtis site under "minor Features" for my Hybrid that I have on order. SE with most options including the 505A package. The build sheet lists "With Leather Gear Shift Knob". But on the window sticker, the only listing is "Leather Wrapped Str Wheel". No mention of the gear shift. I'll be sure to take the build sheet and the brochure which both list the leather shift knob. We'll see what I get. brcd131 Report post Posted February 28, 2013 You will more than likely get the imitation leather knob. When I talked to dealer about this, they looked in parts book and it shows only one gear shift knob available for the FFH and that's the imitation leather knob. So either Ford forgot to add the part number for the real leather knob to the parts book, or they added the leather knob description to the sales brochure and the build sheet by mistake. fusionTX Report post Posted February 28, 2013 The First HyTi delivered to VA appears to have the right leather knob.
brcd131 Report post Posted February 28, 2013 When the dealer looked up the part number for the leather shift knob, it was associated with the HyTi and I think only with the HyTi.
hermans Report post Posted February 28, 2013 It is the same shift knob that comes with the Fusion Titanium and is part of the 505A package.
storksb Report post Posted February 28, 2013 I asked the service guys at the dealer today and they said that the shifter I had was correct even though it is clearly urethane and not leather. They even went and fetched a new FFH with the same options from new car sales to show me I had the same shifter. So I called Ford customer service this afternoon who agreed that it appears I have the wrong shifter and will talk to the dealer and ask that they get the correct one installed. Only thing is the Ford rep stated that there is no part number for the leather wrapped shifter for the SE with Luxury package. The fun continues. storksb Report post Posted March 1, 2013 The part # is: CJ5Z7213FA (handle assembly). Mine was installed last week by the dealer. Hi Ric, I gave them this part number but they say it is only for the titanium hybrid, not the SE with lux.I'll call them again tomorrow and see if I can get them to see sense. I am in no rush to get it changed just wanted them to look at it whilst I was there for something else.
hermans Report post Posted March 1, 2013 I'll bet the dealer has Fusion S and SE models that have the optional shifter and some with the optional appearance and 505A luxury package that have the standard neoprene molded shifter. At first my dealer said I got the correct shifter and I took them to their lot and pointed out the differences. They really became convinced when I pointed out the Titanium on the lot that had the correct leather wrapped shifter. I know there have been Zone Managers that have notified Ford of the issue. My dealer pulled their cars and put the correct shifters on the cars.
