Riggo Report post Posted April 19, 2013 So no one is willing to give the height of their wife to see what the threshold is for seeing over the dashboard? :runaway:
jeff_h Report post Posted April 19, 2013 It's kinda tough on mileage as her right foot only knows two positions, and the aw sh*t handle gets a work out. Why is my wife driving your car???
acdii Report post Posted April 19, 2013 5 foot 2 inches
Riggo Report post Posted April 19, 2013 5 foot 2 inches Haha thanks. Maybe my girlfriend meets the height requirement then. Hopefully she won't need me to buy some phone books.
hybridbear Report post Posted April 20, 2013 Hmm, my wife complained about the same exact thing and also immediately. I wonder if we areperhaps married to the same woman? A rolled up sock and some duck tape solved that problem...Now the seat height is fine and did not involve any blocks.... ;) How did you do this with a sock and duct tape? Toz Report post Posted April 23, 2013 Hey I just noticed that the heated/cooled seats on the 14 HyTi comes with the a 10 way adjustable passenger seat. Not an issue for us cuz my wife is tall, but some on the forums have wished for added height for the passenger seat.

B25Nut Report post Posted June 1, 2013 This is my solution to the "hole" created by the passenger seat. A memory foam 3" pad covered with 1/2 of a Costco sheepskin seat cover. My wife, who is 5'1", is now happy with the height she sits at. The sheepskin makes it very easy to slide in and out of the car. She's still not totally comfortable with the headrest, however. It's nice to see that a fully adjustable front passenger seat will be available as an option on the 2014 model.
clummus Report post Posted June 1, 2013 that's a great idea..especially with the dune interior. Not sure how it would look in the black though:(
JimArch Report post Posted June 1, 2013 Based on the info here, I recently asked my service department if they could help me out by raising up the passenger seat, and they thought about it and came back and explained that with the airbag system, they could not do this without voiding any warranties and safety parameters. They also did say that they could connect me with a shop that could make that change for me.So far, I'm just sitting on it...
acdii Report post Posted June 2, 2013 If it becomes a problem then I will get the bottom half and parts to make it a 10 way seat from the wreckers and make it work. 2 dalesky and corncobs reacted to this
GrySql Report post Posted June 2, 2013 If it becomes a problem then I will get the bottom half and parts to make it a 10 way seat from the wreckers and make it work.Funny you should say that because I just did that to my Mustang GT last month. Same leather seat, all new power underneath. Not quite as easy as it sounds, everything is mirror image backwards, like the controls and seat belt anchor.Welding/cutting the power seat assembly so the seat belt anchor is on the correct side and in my case wiring was required for the looms and connectors.Don't forget the lower seat trim panels, all backwards - oh, no Lumbar switch on the passenger seat. Now I understand why it took me 10 years to get around to it. Luckily the wifey doesn't mind the existing FFH seat, I'll get all that good stuff when I trade this one in for a '15. 3 dalesky, JimArch and fusionTX reacted to this
SteveB_TX Report post Posted June 2, 2013 My MKZ has the 10-way passenger seat option. I am sure it is a direct swap for a Fusion, with some possible extra wiring. The way people drive these days I bet MKZs start showing up in wrecking yards pretty soon. 1 acdii reacted to this
neod192 Report post Posted June 2, 2013 I think the 2014 fusion will also have this. Just get the part #s from that once they become available.

This is what I was thinking of, Either that or the power seat from an earlier model that I basterdize to work in the 13. 1 SteveB_TX reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted June 8, 2013 There has been some discussion of this on other forums. Isn't the passenger seat 4-way and not 2-way. Look at the picture, I could 4 ways it can move: forward, backward, recline seatback, put seatback upright. The drivers seat is 10-way. Does the MKZ passenger seat have these exact same 10-way controls? 10 ways are: forward, backward, rase front of seat, lower front of seat, raise rear of seat, lower rear of seat, recline seatback, put seatback upright, increase lumbar, decrease lumbar 1 corncobs reacted to this

ARUSS Report post Posted June 26, 2013 It really doesn't have anything to do with her height. I am 5'7" and I can't stand riding in the front passenger seat. It sits way too low. In fact, my son is 6'2" and he notices it. Someone was talking to him through the passenger window while he was seated on the front passenger side and they asked him why he looked like he was 2 feet tall. I've had the Fusion for about 4 months now and I love everything else about it. I forget about it until I have to ride on that side. I've been meaning to call the Ford dealership, but from what I've read on some of these posts, that will not help. If Ford is going to make the seat to sit that low, they absolutely need to make it adjustable like the driver's side. It certainly cannot add that much to the cost. As much as I love my Fusion, if I had paid more attention to this in the buying process, I wouldn't have bought it.

If you have the Dune interior, the combination of a 3" thick foam pad underneath a sheepskin seat cover takes the irritation away. It has really worked for my wife, who was constantly saying how much she disliked the standard passenger seat. 1 ARUSS reacted to this
