red01baron Report post Posted January 28, 2013 Well, after 3 months (10/24 order date / 11/19 mfg date), I'm finally taking delivery this week on a black FFH with appearance, technology and moon. I've been in a Mitsubishi 3000GT for 13 years and 190k miles and have never owned a sedan. A new 55 mile commute (each way, =25k miles p/year!) + first child changes your priorities pretty quickly. Once I conceded that coupes were not part of my immediate future, gas mileage, cost/value, and 4 doors rose to the top of my shopping list. Appearance, drive and fun factor were not even considerations. I nearly pulled the trigger on a Prius back in July - seemingly nothing could touch its 50mpg (and in my 125 mile test, it fully lived up to its rating). It just felt so cheap inside and uninspiring. My father in law mentioned the “new” Fusion shortly thereafter. At first I didn’t pay it much mind because I had driven the previous generation Fusion and it didn’t do much for me. Finally, and fortuitously, I went online and took a look. Game over - I had found my anti-Prius. Thanks for indulging my story. I do have a question for anyone that I haven’t yet bored to tears. As I haven’t taken delivery of a new car in a loooong time, is there anything I need to be aware of, watch out for, request, demand, etc? I assume I should pass on the interior/exterior protection up sell (based on the research I’ve done), but is there any other advice out there that would be beneficial? lmp180psu Report post Posted January 28, 2013 Congrats! Same as mine but I have Ruby Red. As far as the delivery, make sure they apply the $500 rebate. Also, I made sure to take a close look at the exterior and interior for any scratches or damage. I also checked the fluids and tire pressures. I was surprised my dealer had a paper already made up to decline the extended warranty...usually they push them pretty good.

fusionTX Report post Posted January 28, 2013 Have your salesperson check Vincent to see if you have any rebates/disocunts that can be applied. You may be pleasently surprised.
