Has anyone ever replaced brakes on a FFH?

I was wondering how long brakes last on FFH?

Long time if they are working correctly. On the 2010 there were a batch of sticking rear calipers that resulted in premature wear.

If you drive smoothly and don't have a hardware issue as acdii notes above, they can last a long long time. I replaced mine at 140k mlies and they were about halfway worn, pic shown on the below thread.

Just another benefit of a hybrid vehicle.. due to the regen braking... they last a long, long time!!!

To show how little the brakes are used on my 2010, there is rust on the rotors.

This is absolutely amazing. For those who have had hybrid vehicles for a while, please excuse my noob behavior. The last vehicle I had was 2010 Honda Civic and I had to replace the front pads at just over 40,000 miles.

 

One thing that seem to get used a lot is the starter motor since the car turns the engine on and off quite often. Is there anyone who had issues with the starter? Sorry to diverge from the topic.

It doesn't have a conventional starter motor. The engine is started using the high voltage battery.

The 12 volt battery is only used to power the accessories (radio, lights, wipers, dash automation, etc.).

Actually there is no starter in the conventional manner. The transmission is what starts the ICE in these cars. There are 2 electric motors, M1 and M2, that combine together to propel the car and spin up the ICE. One motor is connected to the ICE, the other to the output in the trans. The rest of the connection is through the planetary gears in the CVT. Someday I hope to disassemble one and see how they actually work.
