I'm trying to decide between the '14 Accord Hybrid and the 13 or '14(depending on when I have to turn my car in) Fusion Hybrid. The Fusion Hybrid looks like a wonderful car. acdii Report post Posted January 23, 2013 From what I saw so far, the Accord comes in only 3 colors, and they are not very colorful, at least for the plug in. If you go that route, the Energi has more to offer for less or more depending on what trim you get. Since the non plug in has no information, cant compare it yet to the new FFH. Wiggum Report post Posted January 23, 2013 The Fusion is also 5-6+ cheaper then the Honda. I like the look of the Fusion also. I'm also not a moon roof type of person so I do like that I don't have to pay for it. How is this car for passing power wise? I have not had a chance to test it out yet. Wiggum Report post Posted January 23, 2013 This is the car I am going to actively look at the most. I cannot wait to take it for a ride. Friend sat in one and said it was comfortable. What do I have to do to get the kind of mileage that Ford brags about? I don't want to be like owners of the Toyota hybrid always in the slow lane and driving really slow. I would appreciate hearing from everyone.By the sounds of it, if you want to drive like you normally would, and not constantly trying to get optimum fuel mileage, you're not going to like the mileage results in the Fusion Hybrid. B25Nut Report post Posted February 5, 2013 If you like to go 70-75mph on the freeways and you use old driving habits, you see MPG around 35. While the FFH has all the power you need for most situations (I have yet to wish I had more performance) you may find that the FFH just naturally mellows your driving habits. There's a good chance you'll be driving 5 mph slower. By incorporating the pulse and glide technique at speeds below 62 mph (which forces the FFH into EV mode more often), you should see your average MPG approach 40. Souther California driving will not produce 47 mpg, but that's okay, since you're still getting twice the mileage you have now. Some days just driving on city streets you will see 47 or more MPG.<br />Unless you are willing to spend $15-20K more, I don't feel there is a better choice in this size vehicle. The FFH is not going to haul four bags of horse feed, but my guess is you don't need that. Take a test drive and you will be convinced. Just be ready for brakes that could be more sensitive than you are used to (they are excellent brakes, however). Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

B25Nut Report post Posted February 6, 2013 The pluses for Titanium: Push Button Start, Smart Key, Sony Stereo, Ambient Lighting The negatives: Wheels don't look as good as the SE's Luxury ones, Charcoal is the only interior color (a killer for me), more money. Though if you are waiting until Sept the '14s might be just around the corner ... Fusion '14 orders reportedly open 04/15/13, scheduling begins 05/16/13 and production starts 07/15/13. DeeCee Report post Posted February 6, 2013 This is the first hybrid I have owned but have no problem getting 40+ mpg. Current lifetime average is 44.5. However most of my driving is on rural 55 mph highways and not freeway driving. I do not baby the car to get the max mileage. I accelerate normally to the speed limit and then let the cruise control do the rest. I love the car and the technology it comes with. This has been the right choice for me.
