GrySql Report post Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) That is REALLY good! I now have 4500 miles or so, and I'm averaging about 39mpg. I occasionally hit the low 40's but that's it. Maybe in-town is killing it. Or my new 235/45 - 18" tires on my oh so slightly wider wheels??? I've only seen 45.5 one time on the narrower 225's. I try to pulse drive as often as I can, but it seems it's up-hill both going AND coming from work!~WailerYour lower mpg's are probably a result of the wimpy 390 CCA 12v battery always being charged from the HEV battery pack because of all the neat lights you've installed. Or not...Looks spectacular though. Edited April 9, 2013 by GrySql 1 hybridbear reacted to this
fhalasz Report post Posted April 21, 2013 3200 miles, 42.3 mpg at most recent fill (40.4 lifetime) and gradually improving. Most of our recent driving is hills, about 1500 feet elevation gain (and loss) each trip, mostly 60 mph. We had one thousand mile trip when nearly new, 65-75 mph on Interstates, about 39 mpg.It appears from the Empower battery gauge that the electric motor is generally running whether or not the car is in full-electric-motor mode. Perhaps not when over 62 mph; haven't checked that.
