Old School window tint

Recommended Posts

I got the windows done at the dealer this morning. The guy was mumbling to himself a little because he didn't get the plotter file until he had finished everything but the last little piece by the pass. mirror. Mine was the first he had done. Took nearly 3 hours. Next one will be under 1 hour. I got all nine pieces of glass less the windshield done. $143.

Tint is definitely something i want to get done. I will probably wait til spring since I am a bit hesitant to do it during the winter and not have the water evaporate correctly etc.

Had my windows tinted 5 days after taking delivery. 50% on driver and passenger windows and 35% on rear (legal in VA). My car is very similar to Imp180psu's except for the exterior color. I've had other cars with a black interior like we get with the appearance package and the tint definitely keeps it cooler. I was concerned about getting it done now versus waiting for warmer weather but the installer said there is absolutely no problem with getting it done any time of year since almost all of the moisture is squeegeed out during the installation process. It was in the 20's in the days right after installation and no apparent problems. Lifetime warranty from the manufacturer if I ever do have any problems. Posted some pictures in members gallery if you want to see what it looks like. :camera:

Today Eco-Tint of Las Vegas installed LLumar ceramic window tint on all glass with the exception of front windshield. LLumar makes a clear blue ceramic tint for windshield called Air 80. Just wondering if anyone on the forum has had installed and what your thoughts of it are after installation. LMK.

Usually front window tinting is illegal, so its never done. If what they have is clear and is to block UV only, then it would most likely be worth it. Drawback, if you wear glasses that darken automatically, they will never get dark in the car, they use UV to darken.

The windows on the Fusion are already UV tinted from the factory, so the glasses don't darken inside the car anyway.

Mine do, just not as much as outside, but then again I got the REALLY dark lenses just for that reason. If the tint referenced above is what I think it is though, mine wont darken either.
