hermans Report post Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) 30.11.0002 Vehicle Line: This indicates your car has not been built yet. The date of 30.11.0002 is 11/30/0002 and that is the generic date Etis uses. When your car is built it will show in Etis the next day or so and then a couple of days after that the complete build info will show up. hermans Report post Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) The dealer can and should give you the info. Takes about 30 seconds to look it up on their computer. The first thing to show will be the "scheduled to week", then the build date that normally falls within the scheduled to week. For example, my scheduled to week was 11/12 and my build date was 11/17. Your dealer should be happy to get you the information, after all, your are buying a car from them. I would call them on Fridays as the system updates on Thursdays, usually in the evening hours. It's kind of frustrating to see even one person who just ordered like last week get their VIN. Wish there was some type of incentive to get the orders in early but it really doesn't matter. From what I've seen on other sites talking about other car manufacturer's it's the same everywhere. Priority has nothing to do with order date, there's something else behind it, something elusive... I knew a month ago that they had an allocation for my Titanium,While they were waiting for HiTi Builds the dealer was allocated 2 more SE Hybrids.So far in the 2013 model year they have only been allocated 3 dealer stock SE Fusion Hybrids and sold them as soon as they hit the lot. The Hybrids and energies are on the weekly commodities list. cwb1183 Report post Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) I think if you look at the Ford "commodities and scheduling" they project what they think will sell and what constraints there are from suppliers, and this determines how many they can build. Here is an example using ford truck paint. 4. Commodities- We usually get a list of controlled commodities on Wednesday these are the items that are not available (not Material hold, just overscheduled from past or supply issues, short term shortage, Material hold items Can't schedule, IE DVD is currently Material hold) and items that aren't going to be "Free demand". Free demand items are ones that you can get as many as you want, supply outdoes demand. Other items may have a restriction. Currently two-tone paint is a commodity. For example let me give a list of controls (not actual amounts, just for example based on things I've seen in the last few weeks.Two tone paint (supercab/Regular cab) 30%two tone paint (SuperCrew) 18%total SuperCrew 35%5.4L V-8 80% So maybe if the demand continues they will be able to increase production , if the parts suppliers are able to increase the flow of hybrid parts. We ordered on the same day :)Although the Ford dealership in Howell, MI has been in operation for at least 20 years, it changed ownership relatively recently (I think within last couple of years) to become Bob Maxey Ford. I am the first and, as of last week, the only one who has ordered the TiHy at this dealership - so there shouldn't be a restriction on their allocation of a TiHy. One aspect which has occurred to me that could have an impact upon how Ford allocates new production to dealerships is that the fast movers of stock get the allocation first - this must get assigned a high weighting factor at the very least. Howell, MI is somehwere in the neighborhood of about 1/3 the size of Ann Arbor and it is further away from Detroit - factors which would tend to reduce stock movement rate and, thus, move my production date down on the priority list. Another aspect which could be a factor, is a particular dealership's Ford debt ratio to $ value of allocated new stock - I really have no reason to think Bob Maxey Ford has this particular problem but being as their ownership is relatively new, their initial outlay of cash to the past owner(s) could be inhibiting faster payment to Ford. I received a phone call from the Great Lakes Area Ford Customer Service manager informing me that my vehicle is scheduled for build next week; further, that there would be a follow-up phone call next week to provide me a VIN. Apparently, I had been given an incorrect order # by the dealership salesman handling my order - unbelievable, for at least the last 5 weeks I've been asking for order status using the wrong order #. The Customer Service agent answering my phone call last week was especially helpful to me and seemed honestly concerned that I had not gotten any better information than "begun the ordering process". He even made a point of calling me back to ask me if he had the correct name of my salesman, re-confirmed dealership location, etc. I believe Ford Customer Service contacted the Sales Manager at Bob Maxey Ford who than was able to get the actual order status using the correct order #. The above is real evidence that Ford does care about their customers - a fact which I personnaly appreciate and will directly benefit from soon with delivery of my new TiHy, hopefully before the end of April.
