EV not Kicking in

Hello all,

 

I have been searching for anyone who experienced a similar problem. My 2012 FFH would not run in EV mode. I am in Arizona and was driving in 60 degree weather. The high volt battery was fully charged and I was traveling under 47 MPH. The FFH did this all the way home, about 19 miles of stop and go traffic. The EV did kick in after putting the car in reverse. I placed the car back in drive and the ICE immediately came on and idled in my garage...

 

The car does not have any warnings or other obvious items alerting me to a problem. Was a great Christmas Eve problem!

 

Thoughts?

Most likely this is whats happening. Normal operation.

Does anyone know if this battery reconditioning aplly to the 2013 Li-Ion battery too?

Yes it does and covered in depth in the manual.

Yep, my 2010 did it to me one night and I got the best MPG on that trip home ever. hit 44MPG, and usually it is 38 on that trip due to almost all uphill.
