salprint Report post Posted December 3, 2012 Can anyone tell me what Switch Inhibit is, and what it does when you set it to on?I found one place in the manual that refers to it, and that is only telling you how to turn it on and off. I can't find anywhere in the manual where it explains what it is.
salprint Report post Posted December 3, 2012 I think I found the answer to my own question. It has something to do with the door locks. I think it prevents someone from reaching in or using some sort of device to press the unlock door button when the car was locked from the remote FOB. If it is set to off, then if someone could get something in the window they could press the unlock button and the doors will unlock, when on, this button is disabled when locked remotely. Is this correct? If not...can someone explain to me what it is?
acdii Report post Posted December 4, 2012 Try it. Sit in the car, lock the doors with the FOB and see if the switch works.
terryb Report post Posted December 4, 2012 It's clear to me that the car can be set to disable the internal lock switches a few seconds after a remote lock command and it can be configured to not do that by menu settings. TerryB
